Just got one shot by 3 Judgements

9K + 6K + 6K in a single hit. Only the 9K was crit. Its obvious this can one-shot people easily. This was even without Berserker.

Why are Ret paladins even stronger than pre-nerf Sub rogues? Hello?

Yeah it’s kinda silly. Also the judgments from Divine Toll are for some reason hitting almost exactly twice as hard as the regular ones, and nobody brings that up. There is no indication ingame that they should, ability never says they do increased damage, yet here we are.

Hitting the dummy right now, Trinket + Pelagos bonus = 2900-3k hits with Divine Toll, regular Judgments for 1500. What the?.. It’s like they use Holy/Protection scaling instead of Retri one, in Holy my judgments hit for ~2,4k, in Prot ~2k.

Druids do the exact same thing with Convoke

And Rogues.

9k + 6k + 6k = 21k so are you saying you have 21k HP and are complaining about balance with that gear?

What about Saltwater potion +30%?

Seraphim is giving a flat 13% holy dmg and 8% all damage increase, stacking this with wings give your divine toll 41% extra damage and I’m not even counting trinkets n procs into this.

The problem is Seraphim.

Ah so kyrian you are… promoting nerf to Seraphim on another thread aswell while defending kyrian ability in this topic.

Want to know how to block that? Stand close to something that the paladin can hit.
(It can only happen if you are the only thing judgment can hit)
And even then it is a what 45% chance for it to happen in the first place.

The kyrian ability needs to work like that for pve otherwise it is horribly bad to pick as a ret.
There is also a conduit that actually makes it do that and a random chance for it to happen even at the highest ilvl of conduits wowhead has it is not always going to happen.

This was changed on the beta because just throwing judgments when prot throws AS and holy does HS made it weak comparitvly it was also the worst choice for single target in the beta.
The conduit and the buff to judgment in the beta is what helped it become competative in the live game.

But the change should be in one of the beta patch notes.

Well that clears it up and I can understand that, it would be kinda garbage if it just cast regular Judgments. But still, it’s lacking an explanation ingame.

So? Again is the answer to nerf non Kyrian Ret so this ability is balanced? Sure its RNG but it wasent OK for warriors in MoP to get an RNG oneshot back then nor is it ok here.

Taste for blood

Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Redesigned. Your Mortal Strike also enables the use of Overpower. In addition, Overpower hits have a 30% chance to enable the use of an additional Overpower and increase the damage of your next Heroic Strike or Cleave within 15 sec by 100%. This effect stacks up to 5 times.

And even if they nerfed Sera, would DT still not oneshot ppl in BGs if procced? Im not kyrian so i cant test running without the talent.

So again, either that ability is changed for pvp or the whole specc is changed for pvp. Easy choise imo but im sure blizz will see it your way in the end, as they always do. Its always the sledgehammer over the scalpel.

It would make apparent sense to even the most ordinary mind that Divine Toll should interact on the number of targets present. If there is one fkin target, then only one judgement goes out. It’s really not that complicated, but alas, the problem always comes back to the utility of abilities in various scenarios and the many buggy interactions that consequently ensue. Sucks, that we get this kind of buggy gameplay, even after the beta.

Ok you do not understand how Divine Toll works at all.
If there is one target it only does 1 judgment on the target what makes it possible to get 3 is the conduit that you have to use that conduit gives you a chance to cast up to 3 judmgents if there is only 1 target around.
with current levels that is about 45% chance for it to happen, divine toll has 1min cooldown.

So when I crit 15 - 20k TV’s after Divine Toll it’s okay?

Ahh, yes. I knew that. Seems a bit too strong for a conduit ability, does it not? All I get on hpala is like, what 5% splash healing from a Holy Light cast, LOL! Seems on par!?

I did not reply to you in the first place btw i replied to

that guy.

Second off if they are to change it, it needs to be a pvp specific change because if they change it in pve it goes from a good option to the worst one you can take very fast.

Kyrian ret is not the ret paladin with the best single target overall damage it is also not the one with the highest burst if the fight lasts longer then just seconds.
Keep in mind it is a potency CONDUIT meaning you are losing a spec-specific dps conduit to get that chance for a proc.

Dps conduits for other classes are worth way more
And you try to compare it to healing?

Well to use YOUR own class mage.
Fire mage conduit Infernal cascade single target is worth 664dps. (kyrian mage it only gets stronger on other covenants though.)
Ret Ringing clarity is worth 240dps.
This is single target obv.

So Fire mage conduit is worth almost 3times the amount in dps on single target that this conduit is.
And ringing clarity is not the strongest single target conduit for Ret.

Now for Frost mage kyrian Icy Propultion conduit single target is worth 704dps And kyrian is what it is worst at.

You want me to go on?
Even in pvp you can stop ringing clarity from working AT ALL by simply standing close to a friendly person so it has 0% chance to proc as it ONLY works if there is NO other target around.

Ehm… yes you did?

This response does say it was towards me… you know the lil icon of me at the top right kinda tells.

And even if that was a misstake on your part, does nerfing Sera fix the problem?

I never mentioned seraphim at all.
Seraphim is something I personally never liked If it got removed from the game today I would not care.

The thing though is that is more complicated then to just nerf one ability as it is not just 1 thing happening it is a mix of things happening at the same time a nerf to sera has a chance at working because it breaks one of the things in the mix.
Now that is just pure speculation on my part and I had not thought about sera before you mentioned it here.

I came into this topic because seraphim was brought up as the main cause for DT being OP and Blayser is in the opinion that Sera should be nerfed and not DT.

He want to balance the covenant ability throu balancing ret around it… not the other way around. Meaning affecting all other non kyrian Paladins so DT is left untouched.

And you responded to my reply towards that. So ofc Sera is involved when i reply back to you.
