Kael'thas is a dungeon boss... again

Personally can’t wait to kill him again. Was worried he’d be redeemed but thankfully not.

Another troll deity bites the dust i see.

He is Bwonsamdi’s boss don’t know what it means for him. Maybe he’ll get his job instead!!

That would be neat, although i do feel this again as a Talanji/Rastakhan thing, where people have to choose between two characters and discard someone with potentially great stories.

OT: There is now some Kael’thas model

Vashj is back too. And Kelthuzad!!!

PS:

Hakkar the Soulflayer

Oh and this is going to be cool.

Weird how Ysera is in the Shadowlands, considering winged beings are meant to reside on the boughs of G’hanir as per lore they are all ‘children of Aviana’ and she certainly isn’t a wild god to take a trip to reincarnation either.

I guess fanservice is at it again.

Not a retcon per sé, G’hanir could be one of the countless area’s of the Shadowlands and Ysera could’ve travelled to where we are/Ardenweald to aid us and the Shadowlands.

I wonder if we’ll see Deathwing and Malygos too.

That would indeed be a retcon because G’hanir is already established to be in the Emerald Dream, unless we go the extra mile and say that the Emerald Dream is also the Shadowlands, which would have a myriad of massive implications.

Oh… good point.

Oké I stand corrected.

They already said he will be a protagonist and one of his models is literally him being corrupted by those vampire dudes, this is like Thalyssra in the Eternal Palace. He will turn against the players for a while and you will have to slap some sense into him.

She seems to have an entire area, or at least a scenario about her in Ardenweald. She most definetly seems to be getting the Wild God treatment.

Lopped head was mearly a setback!

But Ysera was taken by the Elune to the starts…

(I can hear Steve Danuser laughing on the back ground right now)

Blizzard already retconned stuff that happened in the book that introduced their current expansion.
Do you really think they’d have any qualms about retconning whatever they want from the previous expansion?

Going over his dungeon encounter it really resonates with the one we had in Black Temple about Akama.

We mostly battle something called the Shade of Kaelthas.

Given Vashj is out and around the area, and seems we might interact with both her and Alexandros Mograine, I’d say there is some possibility about her sending us to retrieve her former ally.

Ps: Nevermind, confirmed:

  • Ministers of Vice :
As the fight begins, Sire Denathrius’s Ministers of Vice work to thwart the raid’s attempts to save Kael’thas.

God damn it.

Read the edit. Confirmed, we go in to save him.

Great. Guy who willingly sold his people out to the burning legion, knowing full well they were responsible for the scourge and even before that showed himself to be completely incompetent gets to blow it all off and blame his evil twin.

Well, to break a lance in his characters favour, his random villain batting in BC did come out of the blue.

If this is Blizzard trying to make amendments for it, and we are in for a series of tweaks that throw him into the same redemptive path as we had with Illidan, then i’ll wait and see.

Anyway, i’d say that having his soul being tortured for about 30 RL years (which we don’t know how do they translate in this particular hell), would be quite the punishment…

It made sense to me. Kael was always looking for a new master and towards the end of his campaign he was callously throwing away his soldier’s lives. This is before even meeting KJ.

As far as i remember, he was shown deeply caring about the remnants of his people. Even if he was willing to take risks.

Him standing up to Garithos, and the Alliance, was something i still remember with fondness. Even if i disliked having him saddled with Illidan.

In all, i do think BC did ruin his character arch with some newfound madness and excessive lust for power.
Given the current turn LTT has had, i’ll hold my thoughts on the Redeemed Kaelthas bit and how it turns out.

PS:
Bit offtopic but we apparently have our new Draka model:

And Kyrian Uther is some nightmare inducing abomination:

Following him around even when it was painfully obvious he wanted them all dead. He never stood up to him. He followed him until he had no other choice but to leave.

There’s taking risks and then there’s throwing your soldiers into a meat grinder in the hopes that one will get through, somehow survive everything inside and manage to turn off said meat grinder for everyone else. That’s not something someone who cared about his people would do.

This was a retcon from Chronicles. His fall in TBC made perfect sense considering the Kael we saw at the end of the Blood Elf campaign.

Why would Aggra get a new Model? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

My bad.

Typo, i meant Draka.
