It’s just way too much little micro utility.
Yeah and the cool-downs of like 12 abilities that he used above his head.
In vanilla mage don’t even have 12 cool-downs in total, including the short ones like 8 seconds. You can put them all in the main action bar and hide all the other ones.
Yeah I mean he’s deliberate choosing to add information not on the base UI to track every single spell the man has, sure.
For the record every single spell that shows up above his frame is something priest has had since TBC except for voidform. There’s almost nothing new here, it’s just being displayed in the most garish way possible as a conscious choice.
If spec’s design is bad and feels bad then it’s not the problem of difficulty, it’s the problem of game design.
For example there are people who advocate for removal of current affliction spec gamedesign and return to monkey return to build up shards>UA spam, i remember this bs from legion times, and while affliction was fun to play it was DESPITE of the absolutely dumb rotation, not because of it.
?
Dispersion didn’t exist in TBC. Psychic horror didn’t exist in TBC. They’re from wotlk.
Dispersion hasn’t been used so it’s not on the tracker, I stand corrected on psychic horror.
EDIT: Oh it got used literally the second after I paused xD
Either way, the vast majority of the buffs and debuffs on screen are from spells the game has had for well over a decade, they just didn’t all display as debuffs in the past and you had to just guess if the target had them, like mana and healing stream totem.
Blizzard can do a LOT to clean consolidate buffs and debuffs in the base game, but it’s not really an argument to remove the spells that applied them.
Not true. The stun wasn’t there. You couldn’t pick them all at once. Fade worked differently and had no CD. No dispersion.
Any given priest 8 years ago would’ve had half of that. You combine them all? Sure we’re close. But you don’t get to make that argument because it’s absurd.
Yeah, PI required 30 points into the disc tree. Was pretty much not obtainable for a spriest or holy priest due to how deep into the disc tree it was. Now every priest has it(unless they’re running some really bad build) and can cast it on someone else and they get the buff themselves.
I also think it’s a bit funny it’s possible for a holy priest to pick vampiric embrace today though… We barely have any shadow damage. Like, why is that even possible to pick as a holy priest? Our single-target shadow damage we have is: SW:P initial damage and SW:P ticks and… Uh. Well. I think that’s it.
Legion is where class fantasy was destroyed, and it hasn’t properly returned.
Valid, the number of abilities that have cds has increased but its his choice to track them.
As far as the buffs go, what exactly are we advocating needs removing? Shadowform? Rogue Poisons? Shaman totems? Throw glaive? Blade dance?
Because that’s like at least 2/3 of the things that person has on him.
I think just turning the pace down and not allowing people to use as many things at once is gonna do it. Less talent points. Honestly. It needs to be at a point where we can read the combat without 20 weakauras. If there are abilities that overlap a lot in purpose, prune them. They just took out Ebonbolt. Probably a good choice, but would be better to not allow mages to take 4/5th of the tree.
So putting defensives and interrupts on the gcd?
Idk how that’s gonna go…
I mean yeah. Some people complained last time, but while it was the case the game has a resurgence.
It was just a bunch of people whining about it because suddenly they were faced with the reality of the button bloat cause all these stupid abilities were slowing them down when they went into combat and it frustrated them.
So we just add it back and krep that bloat and removed the GCD. I mean okay. Bad strategy.
Not sure about interrupts though.
Most mage defensives are on the GCD.
Incorporate into default wow means to track down important class abilities. Streamline them like THIS FROST DK CASTED PILLAR OF FROST, BECAUSE OF THAT THERE ARE BIG ICON ABOVE HIS HEAD. Make things more clear.
Offensive cds on the gcd was the single worst change this game has ever had. My cd still has a cast time for crying out loud, a cast time to get a buff…
GCD change overall was stupid.
How do you make it clear when there are so many they can’t fit on the character visually?
Yeah. Most buffs require a GCD to get.
I understand you get frustrated when there are 6 of them though. And there is. But are you frustrated with the GCD or having to use that many GCD’s? Think about it.
I didn’t say a gcd. I said a cast time.
Shadow has 1 off gcd cooldown, PI. The other has a cast time and there’s only 2.
We were talking about GCD’s, but okay. Sorry. But I mean, I get almost all my damage from procs from frostbolt. Casting them all. Like it’s just… I think you’re missing the forest for the tree.
