I know solo old content was not so common back in WOTLK as it is today on Retail but in that expansion is when I started to solo old dungeons and raids and I remember having so much fun solo old content because back then solo old content didn’t involve one-shotting every boss like today, it was required to actually play the encounter and avoid things to stay alive, some were easy, some were hard and some were impossible.
I have tried to replicate that feeling in retail by having multiple pallys at every 5 levels but is not the same, even if the character does not kill the boss on one hit is still too easy because characters have so much durability, so at one levels is boring one hit kill and at others the encounters and tedious long but easy, because characters has so much durability.
I have so much fun soloing some encounters from AQ, Naxx, Kharazan, and Onyxia. The problem is that the encounter was revamped to level 80 on WOTLK with the level 60 version removed, but it was available for a few patches before that happened.
So I simply ask this time to leave on Classic WOTLK both versions. Or at least do it like the original WOTLK and launch with Classic Onyxya, and remove it only when the phases reach the point to unlock level 80 Onyxia.
I would also love to try solo Level 60 Naxxramax, but I suppose that one will be harder to include. But at least let me again solo Level 60 Onyxia as I did back in 2008.
Unfortunately that is not true. Onyxia Lair was revamped on patch 3.2.2. It was just at the end of WOTLK, yes, even later than ICC, but it was already changed on the last patch of WOTLK and that is the one they will use for Classic WOTLK.
Classic WOTLK won’t have Level 80 Onyxia at launch but I fear it won’t have Level 60 either.
The raids that were not revamped until Cataclysm were the troll ones Zul’Gurub and Zul’aman, and they are also two of the ones I will enjoy soloing on Classic WOTLK.
Like any dungeon and raid on Classic and Classic TBC has been before it has been available, probably the entrance will be disabled so no one can enter.
Onyxia was on WOTLK before but that does not fit with the process used to develop Classic versions. To make Classic versions the Developers take the last expansion patch data on the original format and then migrate it to the current retail format for modern servers. But there is no data for Onyxia Level 60 on 3.3.5a. There was Onyxia Level 60 on 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3.0 but for Classic Development the base is the last patch.
That is why I ask Blizzard to take this into account and pick from Classic or Classic TBC the data they already have to allow that version on Classic WOTLK at least before the equivalent phase for 3.3.2, because if they do nothing by default it will not be any version of Onyxia at launch, because Level 80 Onyxia is the only that exits on the 3.3.5a data they have as a base.
