Here we go again with Blizzard catering to the people craving the kind of Quality of Life changes that brought us Retail!
World Buffs is a important part of the classic ecosystem because it brings alot of Player Interaction that fuels the server community. Not only is it a economic bubble in the game, but players coordinating, big meet ups at Yombaja Island and trying to escort your character to the raid instance carrying something VALUABLE that can be lost to the enemy creates excitement, fun, creates enemies and friends and fuels server community discords with alot of content that brings players closer together.
I believe that the Players that claim that World Buffs hinders them playing the game is on some big copium, you can easily get them the day before your raid and play the rest of the week. I also believe that the players that are claiming this DO NOT REALIZE that freeing up that time will not make them enjoy the game more, it is a illusion of the casual raidlogger that they would have so much more fun if they didnt have to log out with buffs but in reality they wouldnt know what to do with that time because they are not those kind of players that seeks content outside of raids, They would still just loggon to an alt.
Fun in Classic is not Raiding molten core with unlimited debuff slots, it is the server community that makes it fun, The PLAYERS makes it fun. TBC failed stop trying to make Classic more like TBC.

I mean is he wrong? TBC populations are shocking, half the EU servers are literally empty and the top servers are still not even close to their classic peaks despite transfers flooding in.
For some reason blizzard want to turn EVERYTHING into ‘modern wow’ which is demonstrably less popular.

What drug this is?
World buffs have never been a part of classic ecosystem. It is just a sheit which private server hacknslashers invented.
And it makes char progression idle. A green geared but world buffed warrior can make more dps than a full t3 one. This was just moronic.

Its not all about the raiding as my post explained, TBC is all about the raiding and its dying.
People say world buffs makes them raidlog? No world buffs in TBC yet more people still raidlog in TBC than classic.

Players and communities are not sacred entities which always makes everything better and are able to handle any feature in a good manner. (as you make it sound like.) The innocent young players in 2004/2005 were much more capable of making something good out of WOW than we are today. Having adjustments like this made is vital for the continued success of classic. Private servers have been doing similar things for a decade and more.
Haha, the only difference is that people on private servers used to actually thnk things over before changing anything and here we have a list of changes that only exists because blizzard were afraid of potential backlash and couldn’t announce it without any changes whatsoever. You’re delusional if you think this is a result of them actually caring. Also this isn’t a good change even, on classic people used to at least log in 2 or 3 times a week (obtain buffs, raid), but currently on TBC people are actually logging in once a week to raid and then play other games the rest of the week. Same will happen on vanilla without Wbs

Because your life would end if you didn’t get world buffs. Because you want to be part of a community that you cannot really match with. Because your ego takes a hit when you don’t show up on damage meters in said community. Because you have chosen to be part of a community that you don’t fit into.
If you don’t want world buffs then don’t get them. If you think your guild that demand you to get world buffs is for you, you are gravely mistaken cause clearly you are trying to undermine the guild and should have received a gkick long ago.
It’s like asking stores to stop selling chocolate because you can’t resist it. Get some self control.

This whole thing is the result of minorities whining in forums so much so that themselves and blizzard eventually think it is a majority opinion.
History repeats itself.

I found that world buffs did make classic fun to play - Nothing beat the feeling of pumping with worldbuffs, never ever has i been as focused in raids as i was with WB’s. I would do anything in my power to keep having them.
People always seem to point out that getting worldbuffs is aweful or that losing them is annoying - However, getting worldbuffs on my server was risky, but not too bad. With summoners, placing our HS outside of SW etc. you can mitigate so many risks of getting griefed.
Also for something to feel good, it helps if there is something that feels bad. It sucks to lose your worldbuffs, but if you take all the negative emotions and feelings you get out of the game, positive emotions etc. doesnt give you the same ‘high’.
Fresh classic without WB is imo like TBC - But including the money sink for consumables, which only will become that much more important for people to use when there is no WB.
I am just glad they are not releasing the pvp system without BG’s - I was getting tired of getting farmed in SG.

This argument is really backwards. Without chronoboom, the incentive is to stay logged out as much as possible while avoiding interactions with the opposite faction, it’s far from community building… well except for asking your guildies for a summon on their locks.
It also removed guilds from doing wpvp and guild battles as they would clip into safe areas and summon the whole raid instead of traveling.
Personally, I think I got dispelled once in Kargath, very exciting stuff.
Now, with chronoboom, your arguments for danger, community and pvp goes out the window. You could replace it with a world buff vendor essentially. Talk about retail QoL.
TBC is failing because it doesn’t have world buffs? Oh yeah, Classic and TBC is the same game, only world buffs divide them.
Nice projecting.

How many ppl were just raidlogging because they didnt want to lose buffs?

People don’t raidlog in TBC?
Nuff said.
