That part sounds pretty normal with every child roleplayer I’ve known, me included. (Child OOC I mean, new and young players.) There’s a lot of children/young teenager litterature and stories with animals as the protagonists, it’s natural to turn toward that when you start making your own stories.
I did think about that when writing it, I’ve known people who were big into the whole Warrior Cats thing for example, but the difference there is that it’s an entire world/mythos built around animal characters, right? That’s really not as much of the case with WoW, you have to go out of your way to want to do that.
Maybe I’m just too cynical from having seen some really vile animal roleplayers on AD, but I’d imagine if somebody wanted to roleplay as a literal animal then they’d be looking for it on another medium.
There’s that difference, it’s true! Though kids are generally not the most… Err, not sure of the word, discriminant? I know that if I had started roleplaying on WoW when I was 13, I’d probably have done something like that because somethingsomething magical cat? Something? (My 13 are far behind me, please don’t ask me to think too hard back. I remember there was a lot of forums, I started on forums yes, with “Play X animal!”, sometimes including also human characters? It was just a kids’ thing you know.)
I’ve no doubt that it’s also used by adults with… Less than pegi 12 intentions, but my default assumption on that is generally “kid irl.”
No judgement, I’m fairly certain teen years are made to be looked back upon with a quiet uttering of ‘oh no’.
Honestly I hope you’re right though and that animal RPers are just younger people not really knowing the negative connotations that we often see with that sort of RP.
Child and kit RP however… yeah that’s probably some weird dude pushing into 30 exercising something they shouldn’t be.
cringeti caravan
I actually feel sorry for you Keti because I believe that you really want this and I personally would love to have a caravan around that we could actually play with. And I’m not sure if those said cats really belong to you or still the HoofPaw, same with some of the kits. But just two weeks ago they were still yours…
If you really want to do a guild, a serious guild that doesn’t get shredded in the Forums like that, I personally think you have to try with a new character. You just were involved in too much stuff regarding the HoofPaw and people don’t forget it that easily.
If you really want to change it, I wish you the best of luck.
You’re clearly passionate, but in order for your guild to be taken seriously, you yourself need to take it seriously.
It can’t be a chaotic mess. Vulpera guilds get a bad rep in general because of issues like these. If you want to genuinely push for your guild to get somewhere you need to look over it with new eyes. Set up proper structure and ground rules.
Don’t Roleplay kits/cats, avoid oocing in spacial chats. there is so much opportunity for great narrative, but you need to treat what you do with ‘some’ level of seriousness.
Occasionally you will have to be the bad guy and kick people if they don’t follow these rules. It can be difficult, but sometimes it simply needs to be done.
Reputation can take months to build up and seconds to destroy. If you really want your guild to get somewhere then treat it (and the community you share it within) with some integrity.
2019-10-07, the Vulpera preview incident
:trolldespair:
I refuse to suffer alone
That’s a mood and a half whenever I gotta share a space in VoH with it all.
¿Since when community has gone so discriminative and got so less tolerance? Holy, she/he just created a NEW guild with NEW additions and instead of being respectfull and given tips most of you just spam things that doesn’t have to be on the present or related to the post.
-OOC in general chat? If alone, what is the problem? Will you just tp there to listen?
-People roleplaying younger characters? if well performed, why cap the creativity?
-People RP kittens or pets? What if its a tool for the guild to perform some events or develop other characters?
-Using arguments of the past to judge a new project? are we real?
You need to stop being so hard on others, and learn more about think about what can be improved instead of what WAS wrong or could be wrong. Let’s be a helpfull community, not a trashfull one pls
They aren’t.
Use a battle pet and emotes.
A large saber druid form does not a good “kitten” make.
And finally, Jack is not the best name for a vulpera.
Some advice has been offered, mind you! OP could do with re-structuring for a start with more information. Perhaps they could look at some other threads for ideas. New thread with better OP? Go for it! Otherwise yea, this is a recruitment topic and should be kept to such.
no people dont do that
People have very clearly offered constructive criticism and advice on the matter. A lot of faces I see here are experienced roleplayers and if you want to fit in with the broad RP community you will well have to accept that there are concepts that are simply frowned upon due to certain experiences that, in this case, seem to be confirmed once again.
This is not about intolerance. This is about the public RP community saying “Hey, perhaps don’t do that if you want people to interact with you cause we’ve seen what this leads to time and again.”
Don’t RP this, don’t RP that…
Seriously? Alright. Don’t RP grunts either. Don’t RP ANYTHING. You people are just making fools of yourselves. RP is not about what and how you can RP. It is about what you enjoy to RP either alone or with your friends. No one is forcing you lot to RP with Keti caravan or the kit or cat chars. You don’t like or want to RP with them? Politely tell them and move along.
You guys are not in spot of telling people how and what to RP. No one is.
Now I do admit that OOC chat in /s as to communicate with others is annoying in many cases. BUT.
/s (Sorry. Bathroom. BRB.) When in situation where not everyone is in same guild or group.
Same applies when you need to tell to a bigger group who are RPing with you and who are not in guild or same group and you need to get some instructions given at once for everyone. Okay that is not a very good reason but you get my point. For example: Grunt group from HoC comes to investigate something. You are part of the stuff happening from the start. Do you
A) Tell each grunt individually?
Or
B) Tell them in one go on /s with OOC?
Or
C) Enact the whole scene from the start in IC?
And one more thing.
Who here is telling you guys MUST join this guild? This is just an adverticement for the guild and recruit attempt. Why make so huge number about it?
You people should look into the mirror and think about how you REALLY would have done this with NO previous experience about running a guild, recruiting members or anything about guild stuff except being a normal member.
