Razer Naga with 16 keybinds (using ctrl alternatives since I personally donāt press ctrl) and 6 shift+ mods. So total 22 keybinds on the mouse.
I use Shift and Alt keys as modifiers. I find the Alt key sits comfortably under my thumb so itās easier to use than Shift.
Most of my keybinds are linked to ctrl+ā¦
Today my new keyboard delivered. I have 5 more keys to bind now, a gaming keyboard.
ctrl+q for interrupt (it needs to be close since important)
ctrl+e for stuns
ctrl+v for racials
ctrl+n for self heals
ctrl+w for trinkets that have an on use effect
ctrl+h for honor (pvp) trinket
ctrl+d for minor defensive cooldown
ctrl+k for major defensive cooldown
ctrl+b for mount
ctrl+g for heroic leap etc
ctrl+s for slows
ctrl+t for death grip etc
ctrl+u for hp recovering cooldowns like enraged regenaration
Q for abilities like bloodthirst on warriors or death strike on death knight.
I hold my hands really weirdly on my keyboard as I two-finger type so am not used to having a good reach across the keyboard with all fingers!
To get around this, I mapped out all of the keys on my keyboard and classed them as easy to reach, ok to reach, and requiring me to move my whole hand. Then I went through my abilities to see which ones I needed to use frequently, which I really needed to hit quickly in an emergency, and which werenāt as important. Then I assigned each ability to an appropriate key (e.g. use often = easy to reach). This also involved unbinding some of the defaults, like c which is easy to reach but itās not like I need to bring up my character pane in combat!
Itās a bit of a laborious exercise at first, but it helped me to have a good understanding of what I could easily and quickly press as, like you, I struggled with shift and other modifiers. So, rather than copying what others do, I found what works uniquely for me
Using a non-US keyboard,
Usually my standard rotation begins with 0, either itās 00000 or a variation of 0123012121212120123⦠with AoE or big spells using Alt.
I play multiple classes and games, so restricting myself to certain setups never felt clear. Diablo uses 1-4, MOBA games use QWER+D+F. Skyrim quick equip was 1-8. Movement keys are naturally there and required in many games. So I just donāt fiddle but adapt.
I play 4 classes Warrior, Druid, Monk and Rogue so I use universal keybinds.
AD - Strafing
S - Moving forward
Mouse Button 4 - Jump
Shift/Alt/Ctrl Mouse Button 4 - Mounts
Mouse Button 5 - Auto run
Space, Shift Space - Mobility and gap closer abilities
QWER, Shift QWER - Damage abilities
Alt QWER - Mostly utilities but sometimes Iād also use them for damage abilities
TGV, Shift TGV - Defensive abilities
F, Shift F - CC abilities, snares or roots
Ctrl F - Slot 14 (trinket)
Alt F - Gladiatorās Medallion
X - Interrupt
Shift X - Stun
Alt X - A PvP talent
Ctrl X - A PvP talent
Ctrl E - Essence
Ctrl R - Racial ability
F1 to F4 - Party target
Shift Middle Mouse - Target self
1 to 3 - Arena targets or priority targets for tanking like bosses
Alt/Shift 1 to 3 - Arena interrupts and CC or taunt macros for tanking
p.s. One of the addons I use to manage my binds is SpellBinding (https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/spellbinding
)
For reaching i use only the buttons from 1-6,then added on top q,e,r,f,t,x,g,h.
Plus their shift variant that should be plenty since i cannot reach ctrl that fast or f1,f2 i think above shifting stuff i donāt know what extra button to add to multiplty my bindings since i live by the fact that you are reaching those keybinds instantly not struggling.
Well the only keybind I use it my left mouse button.
Reaching ctrl/alt and the F keys takes some practice but having a keyboard where the F keys are in parallel to or at least close to the number keys helps a lot.
All of the keyboards i ever used seem to like having the grand canyon between the numbers and the f keys the ctrl one is finicky for me. I used it alot as a press to speak button for almost 6 years and i still am not adjusted to pressing it on the fly.
I use Corsair K70 and the F keys are pretty tight but I guess that it also depends on the size and structure of your hands.
1,2,3,4,½,r,f,v,c,MB5,MB4,MB3,left arrow, up arrow, right arrow, down arrow.
And then all that +alt and +shift (thought alt plus arrows i donāt use)
You can also use ctrl as lifter and i do recommend adding q and e and maybe a,d as keybinds if you need even more. x is also an option.
16+ buttons mouse and then some of the classic ones.
Mineās 1-0, with main spells being in 1 through 5 and maybe 6, and the rest being unnecessary ones. Then thereās Shift+1~5 and CTRL+1~5 and F and G and CTRL+F and CTRL+G with some general rules for all characters.
CTRL+4 is interrupt for me on all. SHIFT+4 is an AOE ability.
If iām a healer, then Shift 1~3 are main healing abilities. If iām a tank, then main taunt is shift+1.
Mobility usually goes to ability 1. Most spammed ability goes to mouse button as well as mount.
Long cooldown abilities are Ctrl+G or F, etc.
Q, E, F, T, V, G, H, B, shift+E and |
In addition to 7 buttons on my mouse (not counting left click right click)ā¦
Respect! Lol.

As a caster I can sometimes stand still and as such remove my hand from ym ouse for a second. So some more support abilities I have put on numpad.
I have long fingers
