Yea well i see it usefull there, it aint something u must have but might do the trick…
Ahh, the kick deniers.
Love these people.
No kicks are ever abused!
Players NEVER kick for stupid reasons!
Players never kick for you pulling one single mob!
Or maybe they do.
But oh well, the person in the forums says it never happens, must have been my mind.
Requiring a visual aid to notice where the tank is, isnt called toxic behavior. But sure.
Part of playing a tank or whatever role and pugging means different players have different playstyles
If the healer wants to mark you up for his own performance, that is something that will benefit you.
If you cant deal with that playstyle, you shouldnt pug.
If you cant do your job properly when you have a tiny marker above your head, than tanking might not be for you.
You are demanding people to play differently (without said marker) because it doesnt fit your playstyle.
And they cant play or would prefer to play with said marker.
You can deal with that or you cannot deal with that, but you cant tell people they cant play like it.
If you cant handle markers, you should consider playing something else but a tank.
Edit:
Wish the forum had a kick function, because you are annoying people in this thread. (since that is your sole reason to kick: because you get annoyed)
2nd edit:
Getting annoyed so easily by markers, suggests you have bigger issues than markers.
Part of playing a healer or whatever role and pugging means players have different play styles.
If someone wants to put a marker on your head to boost his own preformance maby playing Pug isnt for you.
If you cant do your job without a massive marker on top of the tanks head then healing might now be for you.
You are demanding that someone plays differently( With said marker) Because it doesnt fit your play style, And you cant play with a marker.
You can decide to deal with that, or not.
If you have to put a marker on someone’s head, wich is REALLY, annoying you should concider just going dps since healing is not for you.
People think that the majority ruling the removal of someone is abuse.
Personally if I don’t deem a reason valid enough to removes someone I will vote No. On the other hand I have also kicked or agreed to kick people for all sorts of bad behaviour or simply being AFK/DC for too long.
I can count on one hand in ten years of playing how many times I’ve been ‘unfairly’ removed in 10+ years of playing. I remember someone put a skull mark on a rare mob, which was all alone in a corridor and I joked ‘so glad you put a skull on it, I wouldn’t have know what to hit xD’, they didn’t appreciate my joke and I was removed from the group. I laughed (to myself) and took my punishment, levelled a bit and queued up again when I could.
It’s really not worth getting upset about.
However if a couple of people are bickering in a dungeon, it’s frequently the case that one will be removed to put an end to it.
I wouldn’t have kicked you for marking a tank no. Seems a little odd to be kicked over just that, unless some discussion ensued.
I have frequently marked tanks and some really don’t like it. They will remove it so I leave them without one. Generally speaking most don’t care.
I always joke when we mark tanks that they can have the Ni… Circle mark cos everyone can always find the Ni… Circle
If you can’t take a mark on your head as tank, you might get your head out of your arze. It’s very pleasent to have a marker on tanks to see where the enemy is facing, making it easy to dodge frontal cleaves, or notice small turns the mobs does to spew shi.t all over you like in Underrot’s maggots.
Sometimes tanks drag mobs here and there, making it also easy for the shaman to place his aoe.
Is there any downside on marking a tank?
Dodging all points made.
Reversing it just doesnt work. But sure you will pick up anything to keep your point “valid” in your eyes.
Just so you are aware:
Tanks have been marked ever since classic to make sure melee knew where to stack.
It is a use of markers for raiders / debuff stacking / cleave tanking.
A lot of tank debuffs will show a debuff icon above your head when affected.
If you cant deal with other people and their playstyles, you simply shouldnt pug.
Marking up a tank doenst bring him or her any harm. Since it is not intrusive in anyway. (And if it is, its on your end, UI or camera wise)
And as mentioned multiple times: it helps the whole group to avoid cleaves / breaths / stuns etc.
ROFL
That’s actually hilarious.
Take from this what you will.
But the reason why you’re offended by it is that it’s something you wouldn’t do and the reason why I find it to be hilarious is that it’s something I…yeah you got it.
Keep in mind the person that kicked you isn’t going to change but you can.
I’ve kicked players out of the group for looking at me wrong
You dont seem to get it, At all
Exactly, i agree, so forcing a marker upon someone who does not want to have a marker when doing a timewalking dungeon is wrong and will result in you getting removed from the group if you keep doing it.
There was indeed a massive discussion, I asked them not to do it, they did it any way Three or four times in a row. So i kicked them and finished the dungeon wihout that massive marker on my head
This!
For some people its really annoying and when you ask them to stop, nicely, and they dont do it other actions have to be taken.
I dont know. The guides i watch, on high level they all play with icons on tank and healer. You are not saying this players are not supposed to heal, do you
Example Zmok (a hpala like me);

Where did I said that the kick did not happen? Where I said that unjust kicks never happen?
OP got kicked cause for a bad reason? AND? Now what? Should we all hand our hands together and say: aaaaaaaaaawwwwww. Poor you. Did the OP wrote this just to get “pat on the head and reasured that everything is going to be oki doki”? OP didn’t offer any suggestions to improve the vote-kick system or started any worthwhile discussion.
Using my previous example. I can also write a new topic " About a meanie who said bad word to me at BG yday". Now lets discuss it guys!
Lmao.
Ey that’s like invading someone’s personal space I guess.
PS: May I add, I personally have my own mark I like to have. Is like the number in a team sport. Kinda get triggered if someone marks me with a different one.
Being marked up as a tank is annoying how?
Your Death Strike will get a 10% healing reduction?
Shockwave only hits 1 target instead of 3?
Breath of fire only does 1k dmg instead of 2k dmg?
Shield of the Rigtheous only blocks for 10% of the dmg instead of 15%?
Ironfur only grants 6k armor instead of 9k armor?
Once again, if you have so much issues with the marker itself, because thats your point.
You are simply having bigger issues than the marker.
Be that a cluttered UI or you play in 1st person.
If the marker is as big as you claim it to be, (at most it is like what? 4% screen real estate being used? If it even is that much)
Kicking people only for applying a silly marker is toxic and bad behavior.
Lastly: there is nothing to get, because your points dont make any sense at all.
Edit:
You are acting entitled just because you play a tank. And that is a bad attitude.
I like to be marked, because that makes me important person in the dungeon.
Great toxic community btw.
Oh wow the plot twist, now this is popcorn material. Correct me if I’m wrong, didn’t you post about manners in another post about “SAY HI TO ME”?
PS: Getting a mark is like the most common trademark of playing a tank, I understand if you don’t like it. Although I’d recommend checking your UI and camera if is really an issue.
Still, complaining about it is like having an issue with how aggro works or having to be the vanguard in a group along the many other small things of playing a tank.
Yup. And I find it hilarious to say the least. You can write even the reason: “Had bad breath” and if majority will press button “yes” then though luck for you.
Just shake it off and continue.
All these hurt kicked people lack 1 thing. Suggestions on what can be done different. Remove the system altogether and let all the trolls, ninja pullers and etc run free in LFG? That will make running dungeons a better experience?
If the majority of your party members didn’t want you in the run for what ever reason, no matter how silly or unreasonable it may be, then just suck it up and deal with it… Or offer an alternative but VIABLE system to the current vote-kick system we have.
Since i never pug i’ve obviously never been kicked either. Do u get a message with the reason for being kicked when u’re kicked?
You have been removed from the group.
Along with:
Hello darkness my old friend…
I meant more if u get a «u’re removed from the group because whatever reason (bad dps, ninjapulling, marking tank and so on)?
