Killing N'zoth is just a vision?

What if us killing / defeating N’zoth and his Black Empire is the last vision we witness, Shadowlands being part of the dream and the expansion after Shadowlands our characters wake up to complete destruction on Azeroth, eternally doomed and infected by N’zoth’s armies, completly obilerating everything and we have no choice but to escape and look for a new planet, leaving behind our loved planet. We could re-visit it in the future, or invade it once we gathered up enough strength.

This would make N’zoth the biggest player ever.

As far as i was able to gather, squid is a big time 4D chess player and this is a 4D chess move.

That would make sense but nothing currently in the encounter show that.

Was expecting that kind of thing at the end of the mythic encounter, but nope nothing.

“If we are victorious against N’Zoth, that should be the last that we hear from him…”

Nah… Old Gods are not a threat since Blizzard revealed Void Lords. N’Zoth is nothing more than rare elite at this point in lore.

May still be possible. Gift wearing players can deny that N’Zoth has been killed by the players (and hey, the gift wielder was part of said group) to certain NPCs. Maybe we get the sylvanas follower treatment and get a small encounter with him shortly before shadowlands as a reward for staying loyal.

Considering that players who has the gift actually keeps the buff after defeating him makes me wonder if Blizzard dont have something more in store for him.

I wouldn’t put much faith with that theory if it wasn’t for the fact that NPCs also mentions this in the capitals, and blizzard usually dont make breadcrumbs like that just for the lolz but to keep the possibility open like hes dead (or is he?).

But i am sure that his eventual return will be quite underwhelming like he is now.

EDIT: aw shunk too late :stuck_out_tongue:

Reading that interview and seeing things like:

The stakes are very high, and it’s an exciting adventure we can’t wait for players to experience.

I really wonder if they actually think that… I mean what stakes? what danger? What adventure even… most of it so far has been but a chore I felt like I “had to do” - not necessarily because it was fun or anything.

Anyway back OT, doubt it was a vision. N’Zoth is the embodiment of the word disappointing. Old Gods are just minions after all, they’re fodder. Personally not a fan of the way Blizzard decided to handle this at all.

Give me an event like the pre Wrath one… where everyone was being turned into undead…

i think i read somewhere someone came up with a theory that this entire patch is just a vision to prep us for shadowlands which would mean the raid itself was indeed a vision after all he did say all eyes shall be opened

This would be pretty epic to be honest.
It would be incredibly well done by Blizzard.

They have those timewalking dragons so can rehash anything, anytime.

Ion lacks vision.

The raid should be a Horrific Vision of Ny’Alotha, in which you purposefully defeat all the bosses, with N’Zoth included. But alas, it is all fake.

So you go to the Shadowlands, thinking N’Zoth is dead, and when shadowlands ends we go back to Azeroth to be greeted by Ny’Alotha, The Black Empire. A massive world overhaul and re-design into Ny’Alotha.

This would legit be a cool and thematic twist. Maybe we’re all living in his vision now thinking he was defeated, when in reality we’re all zombies hooked up to those brainsucking squids as he chills in Nyalotha victorious

Yes all this patch is for is to test systems and buy them more time to have Shadowlands ready.

Kinda like the idea. Big bad evil everyone was scared off and getting teased for ages shouldn’t have been defeated like this.

Are any of the old gods we “killed” dead?

As i know , G’huun and y’shaarj dead. No idea about N’zoth tho , seems like they might bring him back.

Officially: Consider them dead until we change our minds.

Which is pretty much the stance you can have on anything in Warcraft what with their approach to continuity.
