I still have the same issue, I ran a repair on my World of Warcraft, tried without addons and undated all my drivers but it is still the sameā¦
These lag spikes are back since a few days 
Can be 100% replicated by talking to Wrathion in the Chamber of Heartā¦
since a few days ago all was working fine on my wow classic, but now i also have odd lag and spikes ingame, also in classic we cant change to dirrectx 11 mode so we are done forā¦ its unplayableā¦ ive reinstalled computer/wow etc and my broadband is fine at 100/100 always ā¦ blizz do something plsā¦
Same problem.
Most time the spike happen at Raid time, or in zone have a lot people and doing stuff (like farming fragments).
It is annoying when you are trying hard in Raid time.
I try WoW reinstall, Battle Agent/client reinstall. Without addons running.
Is there a fix yet?
This is still a thing! Specially on reset day, also Dazarāalor harbour, islands and volādun are extra likely to be hit by these spikes. And talking to some NPCs, like Wrathion or Mother in the chamber or Ransa in the Dazarāalor harbour will trigger a spike 100%ā¦

I recently buyed a new pc with those specifications:
CPU: Intel i7 10700k
GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 6gb
Ram: 32GB
HDD: 2tb
SSD: 500g Samsung
OS: Windows 10 pro
The game is on the ssd as well, but since 2 days, im having issues, everytime when im in-game no matter where im i, it freeze for 1 to 2 secconds and the fps drop a little bit, i reinstalled the drivers but it didnt help, everything is up to date as addons and drivers. Im running in game on DirectX 12, the grapics card in-game is linked to rtx 2060 not to auto.
New week, same problemā¦
If the game only functions properly 5 out of 7 days i want a 28% discount on the monthly feeā¦

Me and my partner were having the same issue. We uninstalled the PTR and this seemed to fix it.
I still have this issue since july, and I have never had the PTR installed
I get this issue every time I play. Sometimes it happens when I right click to view a mog on my toon then 5-10 second lag spike and a 1-2 second fps drop. Graphics card is fine and updated drivers. Had this issue for a while now seems Iām far from the only 1

I legit have a lot of lag spikes, even with a very good computerā¦
My game completely freezes at times, even in Raids and such (terribleā¦), while sometimes itās perfectly fineā¦
I have a huge amount of memory usage at times when this occurs, or high usage of CPU, without any addonsā¦
So far, the only viable solution has been to set Direct X to dx11 legacy but this also comes with the cost of severe FPS reduction. No permanent fix is yet to arrive, and its been many months.
got the same issues as described and solved it by uninstalling MSI Afterburner, been playing over a week with no more freezes.
Got the same issue. Getting freeze for 3-5 sec. I also experience some sound delay. Sometimes itās just like the sound has to catch up of what is going on. One combat without sound except some minor spell-sound and then suddenly every sound comes around and smash your headphones.

I have the same issue. Getting freeze for 3-5 seconds and delay in some sounds.
I am updating all the Addons and I will try to run the game without Afterburner.
Of note, I have done a clean install of the game in a new SSD Disk. After updating graphic driver to 456.55 (nVidia GTX 1070), I noticed the issues. However, I havenāt play for a long time (since January), and I donāt know if the issue started before the driver update.
I donāt know if it is related, but I had another strange issue. After uptading the graphic driver, and restarted the computer, I run the game. The game got freezed for almost a minute in the main screen while trying to connect to the server (the screen with the red flags). After that, when I selected the character, the loading screen took almost a minute. But this only happened one time. Now Iām playing in Nazjatar, and sometimes I see a green circle in the upper screen that says that new content in downloading.
It is possible that all these issues (freezing, sounds delay, green circle) are related with the Shadownlands patch?
Dont think so honestly but not sure. I started getting this in july (after a patch) but some have had this issue for longer it seems.
Same here I got this 2 day ago 4-6 sec freeze , massive frame drop and sound delayed
