Lariat drop rate. 1 per server per month

Oribos.eu exchange shows you who is selling what on what server. There is one recipe being sold each month at best.

What gives with this incredibly ridiculous drop rate?

Are you doing this just to encourage gold sale by pushing up the price?

I honestly cannot think of another reason why Blizzard is doing this. Lariat is essential to be at any decent level, and yet it is so restricted.

Just stop interacting with the system. It’s so badly designed that they should just scrap it all.

i was happy to get one recipe on an alt to sell for 1,3 million gold, because my guild already had one crafter for this really special item.

I was lucky enough to yoink a recipe cheap (400k ish gold), but it is indeed hilarious, literal BiS item locked out behind RNG. Same goes for Hourglass Ring and the Potion of Ultimate Power Recipe…

this is really a steal, gj on that

100% agree this is ridiculous. Same goes for the Ring Bound Hour Glass recipe. Would be interesting to see the drop rate of that one per month. I doubt it’s even one per month.

and the stupid rhinstone glasses that suposedly drops from fishing.

At this point of the game you’d probably either save more money by not buying it off ah or get more money by selling it on ah should it drop for you rather than learning it and crafting lariats. I mean those things are going for like 3-5 million gold. I doubt you’d ever craft enough lariats in the remaining 1.5 years of the expansion to get even with that.

Anywhere from 700k to gold cap. Most are selling around the 1.3m mark

There is not a sever with more than one available. Some severs haven’t had one for sale for over 2 months. That doesn’t mean they have not had a drop though.

Still would be interested to know if there is way to tell. GM and myself have been going religiously for 5months and doing the Elemental Storm. Has not dropped for either of us. He does on 12 Alts and I do it on 5.

Been fishing up a storm for 5months and also never seen the Design: Rhinestone Sunglasses. And trust me I have opened a fair amount of Draconic bottles. Every time its the same cooking recipes over and over again with the odd Inscription or Engineering Fireworks in between.

Tbh. I dont think its entirely measured like this.

The vast majority dont farm this recipe, a very very small amount of people even bother doing primal storms realistically.

So its normal to see it this rare.

As far as im aware its a 1% drop rate from all elemental events.

Other recipes seem more common and sell for far less.

It’s not the drop rate so much as the method.

All of recipes have around the same drop rate but the sources for the lariat and ring bound hourglass are obscure and a very small part of the player base actively dose that content. So less drop

There hasn’t been a Lariat recipe on the Magtheridon AH since 31st March (last checked Undermine Journal yesterday, but not seen it on AH today either).

Last time it was up it was 750k. Considering it’s getting nerfed next week, it’s not worth that gold at all anymore.

Gonna drop to 50k at best now considering how bad it will be now, especially for tanks and healers.

Try coming to Doomhammer. As soon as the elemental icon goes up the place 3-5 people farming it constantly. So every time a new rare pops there is a group at it from the get go. I know because I have sat there with a ton of alts now.

This is not accurate.

Elemental Lariat duration changed to 5 seconds (was 12 seconds); increased by 1 second per elemental gem equipped.

  • Developers’ note: The Elemental Lariat has been one of the strongest embellishments due to its ability to grant a large amount of your desired stat based on a condition that is easy to satisfy. We knew that we wanted to bring its power back on the season boundary, but was important to us that player’s investment in acquiring the item or the recipe was respected. Rather than reduce its power directly, we opted to redesign the passive to bring it in line with all other Jewelcrafting effects by scaling an axis of power with the quantity of gems slotted. The net result is that the Elemental Lariat will be less powerful than it is now earlier in a player’s gearing phase, while preserving its place as a throughput powerhouse when players begin to round off their gear set with added sockets. We look forward to hearing your feedback.

PTR 10.1 patch notes

I mean it is true for tanks and healers, maybe for dps it will still be decent. Healers would rather take avoidance neck.

True, Lariat is double-tricky, one: It falls from elemental storms on the mainland of the Dragon isles, hardly anybody does those anymore since Forbidden reach is easier to gear up with, so fewer drops.

Two: Most of the people who get the recipe are jewelcrafters themselves, many of whom i assume learn the design rather than sell it, so not all of the drops go to AH.

I find it a bit of a mess-up that the one JC design that’s in such huge demand is so hard to get, in a system all about crafting stuff for people, making the recipes so hard to find seems counter-intuitive, TBH, just another “Haves/have nots”-division.

That is still a nerf, with 3 gems it lasts 8 seconds, vs 12 before.
