Latency increases after some time

Hi,

After I login playing the game, it is good for first 20-30 minutes. Then the latency increases for no reason.

I reset the modem. It’s again fine for 20-30 minutes then latency increases.
I ipconfig release renew and flushdns. It’s fine for 20-30 minutes then latency increases.
I ran winmtr test I have 1% loss which should not cause 900 ms in the game right?
I closed all addons, my antivirus, addon downloader, my browser etc. and it is still good for 20-30 and then latency increases.

It’s a very weird problem which I didn’t have back then. I am using a clean win10 that I installed a while ago.

Could you please help, I can’t join to anything that lasts more than 30 minutes and it’s very frustrating for me.

Here’s the mtr result for an ip for further reference: (My ISP is Vodafone)

I’m having the same issue…

I am glad that it’s not just me. Curious question are you using Vodafone as well?

I’m having the same issues also, even on classic at classic setting. Latency bar is green for about 20 mins, then it just turns red.

I tested out Destiny 2 to see if that was bad, nope, all good, and that’s at the highest settings

Please look into this Blizzard, and don’t fob us off with a troubleshooting guide

I’m in the very same boat… awaiting a solution! The usual delete WDB/Cache and other stuff doesn’t work of course.

Same problem here! hope a fix/solution becomes available! it lasts around 20 minutes, then the whole net goes down! :’(

The OP is on Vodafone Net Iletisim Hizmetleri Anonim Sirketi.

Are all of you on Vodafone? If so, there may be more a problem with Vodafone.

I hope this gets attention then. Let’s see how they can support us!

Having this trouble, but in oposite scenario.
First 1-2 hours struggling on 500-600 latency, but then, all of a suddent, it drops down to 100…
Hope theres a fix for the problem

Having the same issues. With virgin media.

Same issue here on BT internet

I was having this issue all day yesterday it was borderline unplayable. It was fine when I log in and then the ms was rising from the usual 20ms to 1k+ms after around 15-20 minutes. On retail and on classic.

UK - Virgin media.

Looking at the data you have added it seems pretty high very early …

Not used to how WinMTR lays out data but if i read it right chAdmin is your router ? and having a high ping already there from another program seems really odd …

So i have a few questions

  1. Are you using wifi or cable ?
  2. what network card are you using ( i wonder if its a similar issue i had with something that could be related to driver issues?)
  3. what are your computer specs? could you somehow have limit the IO throughput with hardware running at max ?
  4. what kind of router are you using ?

There are many possibilities here and not easy to find a solution to this issue thats for sure … but we have to narrow down the source of your issue especially with those numbers …

Another question would be if you have another computer and could try wifi + cable and try switching a bit around and see if you can repeat this and see if it comes back … that would be my first steps and the easiest to start with

but it looks from what i can see if i read it right to be a local issue not an issue with your isp

Not very sure how you deduced it. But to be honest, I did not notice any problem with WinMTR. And one word of advise, if you do not know how to read the data maybe you should not really comment about it before researching it.

I am still waiting for a blue to guide me to a solution.

You already have latency issues before it even comes to Blizzard servers. I already suggested to check with your ISP.

Hi,

I have talked to the ISP. They told me that there’s no issue that they could have identified with my connection. I have conducted another winMTR test. Here’s the result:

It clearly shows the problem is at blizzard’s side and I am eager to learn how they plan to fix this.

Dude … looking at the data you posted now and before … it shows complettely differend numbers … and yes i have in the mean time checked how the app puts out data … from what i can see you have 4 second delay already on the first hopp

ref: | chAdmin - 0 | 547 | 547 | 31 | 468 | 4076 | 836 |

| 195.87.128.38 - 0 | 547 | 547 | 12 | 458 | 4060 | 825 |

that high of a delay that close to you is not normal and points clearly to a local issue … compared to you latest data where the worst is 1 second … that is still extremely high and numvers after that really dont grow anny way …

if chAdmin is your router and the 195.87.128.38 is your first isp connection point then that is way to bad … normally people have bellow 10 ms 99.99999% of the time for those distances .

I have been doing support for several years and yes i can read data just not used to the application you used because most people just run a trace route and that gives more then good enough data

beside that … looking just at this line from you last post
| chAdmin - 0 | 1381 | 1381 | 2 | 440 | 1013 | 76 |

Looking at that … last was 76 ms that is quite high by it self . worst was 1013 that is the like a second delay that is crazy high but not as high as the 4 second delay you had in your first post …
avarage was wat ? 440 ? that is even crazy high half a second almost

you best was 2 ms … 2 ms is 100% normal … but that means something is really wrong on your local network and numbers for all the other hopps are equally as bad because of you having close to you an issue on on the route …

Since you have apperently confirmed with your isp that they cant find an issue … this means the issue is on your local network and not the router / box your isp has given you …

i dont know how you can claim that 4 second ping are not a local issue but an issue with wow when its right with you and then say to a person that has done customer support level 1 ,2 and 3 in business including programming and helping developers out and say to me

I did not notice any problem with WinMTR. And one word of advise, if you do not know how to read the data maybe you should not really comment about it before researching it.

and i am sure blizzard support is not telling you any thing else then what i have told you already.

but to be nice … here are my points i thin you should check.

if you use wifi … try a cable .
if you use a cable … try switching that out .
beside that remove any switches or other routers or other hardware that is between you and your pc …

and if its nothing of that then there is an issue with your pc / firewall

Beside that … i would make sure not to download torrents and check if someone else is using up all the bandwith on your network … like torrents … but that would be a bit odd unless you have a 100mb+ connection or something as fast as your connection you have to your router when it comes to your internett

You are not alone. 650 ms here.

stupid question … are you using a vpn ?`

just wondering
