Launch season 2 AND fresh classic era at the same time

So that the speedclearers will go for the seasonal realms and we’ll end up with proper casual Classic realms.

I doubt there will be som 2 again. Previous experience showed that people dont like idea of leveling characters to be deleted

Fresh & Era are opposite concepts. There is no “fresh Era”.

Era is the ability to keep your progress and play this game forever. The end of the rat race mate.

Fresh is the cycle of endless resets yet again.

SoM2 + current Era is the way to go.

I doubt there is point in fresh era when era exists and is way more “efficient” at everything than fresh. People will go fresh only if it’s really different than what it was. WoTLK had fresh and people moved towards existing realms anyway.

Aside of HC anything that would have any chances surviving first month or two is something custom - fast, with different meta and “cool” features that aren’t washed down by borring P1 with MC dropping junk loot

SoM characters moved to TBC (and Era?).

No. I’m asking for a fresh Era server that will start from phase 1 like Classic did originally, but without the XP buff and hasted content of season 2.

And of course it is a lie, because even now the fresh realm is the only WotLK PvP realm with relatively balanced faction populations.

Yes, you could move the SoM characters to era realms or Wotlk a while back atleast. Not sure you can now tho.

You can and that’s the only thing you can do on them because SoM realms have been shut down and show up on the realmlist only to allow players to transfer off.

How come Hardcore is so popular then?

And monofaction PvP megarealms show people actually want to always win and have wellfare on AH and among guilds. Fresh realm will be less derailed than an old one but over time the population or faction balance will start to degrade.

It is a bit different. When you come to hardcore you now from start that you char will be deleted even at lvl 60. In some people wanted to enjoy classic vanilla once more, and it is not that atttractive to sweat whole year for bis class items to get character eventually deleted.
Not to mention in hardcore you delete char because of your own fails, in som it is just delete by system after some time. Even in hardcore there is chance to have full t3 char without a single death and it will stay undeleted by blizzard.

Yes, people do prefer having only their faction over having only opposite faction, but that doesn’t mean people don’t want realms with 50:50 faction balance. That’s the point of PvP realm, and those monofaction realms should have never been allowed to exist - they should have merged them or restricted transfers.

You can’t have 50-50 unless you make player cap for faction which means you restrict players from free choice of server and faction. And each time balance goes 60-40 lower faction starts to cry and leave.

they could cap it by making locked status specific to one faction, and by restricting transfers. So that when a server gets over 60% alliance, you cannot create an alliance character on it or transfer an alliance character to it unless you already have an alliance character there, and you cannot transfer a horde character unless you’re transferring to another alliance-majority server or to a Normal realm. They could also offer free faction change.

The result of such restrictions would be that if you wanted to transfer off, you’d have to transfer to a non-PvP realm - so quite similar to what we got, the lack of PvP realms - you can’t transfer to a PvP realm if there are no PvP realms.

With WotLK classic the issue is that alliance races were underpowered in classic and people were playing on horde from the beginning, so once WotLK launched there was already established global faction imbalance leaning towards horde, but not on the fresh servers. Free faction change could have changed that, and the remaining per-server imbalances could be solved with FCMs and transfer/creation restrictions.

Era was not Classic. Era came after Classic ended, and the majority of people left for TBC. Era has been untouched and pristine for close to 2 years now.

If anything, you want a relaunch of the slow progressions 2019 Classic servers.

It is important to make this distinction because many Era players wish to remain in Era and not have to go through a reset yet again.

So you would want a SoM server and a fresh Classic, coexisting with Era? Or you want to wipe Era?

The first option seems like splitting the community too much, but nothing Blizzard could not do. The second is simply a no.

Ye, so you want to restrict players from playing whom they want and where they want, so people who constantly created 99% faction realms and DONT want 50-50 could have 50-50?

no, I don’t want a relaunch of existing servers, I want a launch of new servers with progressive phases that will eventually get merged into classic era realms to reduce the community split. Or even better - progress them to TBC and WotLK.

Players are still prevented from doing what they want by the lack of viable PvP realms.

that’s why not all realms are PvP

That’s what I meant. Yeah we shall see mate. Probs big announcements coming soon!

People still

  1. prefer to go on highest pop servers to not get stuck on dead serv later
  2. people for unknown reason to me are embarassed to play on pve servers

and Blizzard keeps monofaction servers of such population that the servers would explode (or get layers/queues) if a horde-only server got merged with alliance-only server.

Still, such situation is unhealthy even on Normal realms, as people will see a server as “Full” and put their characters there only to find out that it’s dead on their faction. This is simply wrong and Blizzard should be doing something about that.

Season 2 will happen but I don’t think Fresh Era will, at least possibly not until the end of Wrath, but that’s my opinion.
