Layering is anti-classic

How many unsuccessful versions of classic wow are u going to release before u realize that layering is the real problem, the true game breaking feature that absolutely destroys classic and what this game is all about.

Ey with a bit of luck all the complaining Firemaw #NoChanges people stay away and we don’t need layers.

Its not possible to have a megaserver without them, and we saw what happened to more smaller servers by the end of Classic.

False. I’ve played on megaserver with Chinese, Americans and Europeans all playing on same server with 10-15k people online in the same time, without layering, a server ran by a small private company and it was PERFECT. Literally the best wow ever and Im playing since 2004, I’ve tried all versions of wow and nothing comes even close to Nostalrius/Lightbringer

Nost/Light played like crap and had connecttion issues/lag constantly. People dont want that, and they dont want to compete with 2000 people for a named mob tag.

Again, never gonna happen

U obviously didn’t play there.

both of those servers ran better than blizzard runs today, clown.

I’m completely and utterly opposed to dual spec, chronoboon and such.

But worst of all is Megaservers and Layering. That’s not the Classic experience whatsoever, and it completely ruins social fabric and organic player interactions and community-building.
Blizzard trying to sell the megaservers as if it’s the new next best thing, and people simply bending over and accepting it. It’s sad.

Classic release saw multiple servers with lower populations. Those that got higher got locked down and complaining started how poor people can’t play with their friends. In the end, realms got opened and pop increased - players started creating mega-realms.

And it is not like having 2 or more PvP realms will create monofaction realms. Current players have to be managed by one PvP server for it to be PvP.

Then at launch it turned out instance mobs give way more exp than expected (and thus more than on private servers) so leveling through questing got inferior to instance spam. Or mages being able to pull Mara? It took Blizzard quite a while to limit what players can do to break out of the game.

Dual spec in this re-re-re-re-release of vanilla will at least help with hybrid specs/healers to have ready-to-use alt-spec. Early TBC was fun with multiple dungeon runs, was playing tank to then go holy for raids but for dungeons both - but quite quickly I got spec-locked and could not change easily. People looking for tank - RIP.

And with this re-release there will be a huge launch population, that will cliff off soon thereafter to awaken before TBC. Multiple small realms don’t really function for FRESH. Merging servers in January would look really bad

Agreed, their current layer tech is server wide and not zone specific. It makes the world feel totally dead

Personal insults because you’re still seething about dual spec no doubt.

Oh, and no they didnt.

I don’t want to wait an hour for a mob, competing with others trying to tag a respawn.

There should be some middle-ground at least.

To me, layering in classic feels weird, especially the PvP layering. Classic is about community and making a name for yourself, grouping with friend and so on. Knowing the name of that pesky ganker… you name it.

With their one server per region policy I get it tho. When the population dwindles down they can always cut layers and have the world “full” regardless. I’m staying on one-layered era for now, partially because of the layering, but mainly due to the gameplay changes and ruleset.
