Learn english in wow

I want to try to learn English playing WoW. Think already someone has tried so to do. Can you recommend a EU server for the game?

If youā€™ve played for years in your own language just change your client language to english. You already know the meaning of thousands of items and just seeing the english translated name while playing should help you.

As for EU servers to play on i have no idea tbh, i still play on my baguette server so i canā€™t really tell.

Iā€™ve learnt both English (C2 Cambridge certificate) and German (Goethe-Zertifikat C1) mostly by reading manga and later on watching films.

Everythingā€™s possible with enough commitment, just to be clear though there are much more efficient methods out there and Iā€™d advise you to stick with those and, as a bonus, play wow in roleplaying english servers.

Good luck with it, itā€™s always good to have some goals in life

There was a guildie in guild I was in during vanilla. She was spanish and could speak basically no english. Her friend translated for her when needed.
Eventually she learned a few words and in very broken english she could communicate with everyone else. We even had a name for that version of ā€œlanguageā€ .
Then over time (many years) she learned more and more until she could write english so well that you could only tell that she was not a native speaker and made a mistakes sometimes, but nothing major.

This, as far as I know, without any actual learning outside of wow.

Soā€¦ I would say, go to english realm, play with english language. Add there some personal external effort and you should eventually learn.

The logic suggests to pick the one where you must use some language beyond go, GG, kick prio.
Argent Dawn should be your pick cause RPing is a language heavy activity.

A couple of friends have just played with the English client. They slowly picked up more and more English.

Personally Iā€™d have thought RP would be a hard thing to get into if you donā€™t speak a language fluently.

Obviously he will never outshine Brigante, but it doesnā€™t mean he canā€™t learn much more from him than from someone who isnā€™t here to speak a lotā€¦

I learned english 100% from online Mmoā€™s

I should thank old KoTOR rpg game for my interest in languages
I couldnā€™t pass certain quests there without understanding the meaning of my dialogue choices so I had to adapt and introduce myself to a dictionary :flushed:

Ive played with bilingual Russians on RP servers, & Russians that dont speak any English. Just ask in trade chat on Argent Dawn or Steamwheedle Cartel (if theres anyone left) - sure they all be helpful - if you can understand this

PLEASE just donā€™t
really we have enough russians as they are, we donā€™t need any spies in our community ^^

just play as youā€™ve always been playing

I never play any mythic keys with them not because they donā€™t speak English though, but bc they are generally worse than average in terms of personal skill

P.S.: itā€™s called personal opinion for a reason. donā€™t be mad

To be honest i learned English from watching movies and playing games myself.

First i learned the vocabulary then grammar.

Wouldnā€™t say that English is like my first language, but not too far, especially when it comes to writing and reading, and iā€™m also quite good at replicating different types of accents.

I guess youā€™ll learn with time.

I havenā€™t learn English from school. I am learning mostly from movies wow novels etc. Still I canā€™t speak fluently - whatever I can speak is from forceful raid leading.

Definitely english client. And after an international guild.
Im one of ppl who learnt (bad) english via rpg and after mmorpg.

Spanglish? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I learned english by playing wow and watching movies, works fine!

Been alot of funny moments at work when i work with peoples that also learned ingame.
Good thing u can just pop a pic of the object u dno name off and send and both will know what it is in home language.

Join an international guild and talk on voice, u will pick it up in no time! :+1:

Take your xenophobic views out of the thread when the OP is asking for help and to learn.
