just druids 
and believe or not we are low on shamans too for raids

I don’t think there’s any official data but you used to be able to use an addon called census+ that would give you a (very) rough estimate based on who is logged in at the time. I believe the addon has been broken though.
That said I can safely say the least played is druid. Shame because they’re a great class, very versatile. I mean you could run a dungeon purely with druids filling all roles.

Wasn’t there a well known all-druid guild called Druids Of The… something. That was clearing top content on par with every other guild.

It was founded in wotlk but they disbanded after DS if I remember correctly. They played 10 man and they where in top 250-300 ranks
I’m guessing Druids. For PvE raiding content in Classic they’re the least wanted class, with an optimal raid composition including …1 druid. (resto).
Feral (Bear) druids are worse raidtanks than Warriors.
Feral (Cat) druids are outdps:ed by Rogues and Warriors.
Balance druids are called Oomkins for a reason.
Restodruids are alright, but their HoT’s don’t stack with other druids’.
Not saying that you can’t include Feral and Balance druids, or more than one resto druid in your raids, but there are usually (much) better classes to bring if you care about performance.
Reminds me of the all-Death Knight raid that killed Lich King 
I don’t know why noone wants to play druid. I find it to be the most fun to play class. Is it because everyone is min/maxing? I’m even kinda sad that stealth-runs are not a thing, but aoe runs are…

it’s because druids are really bad. I tried leveling a druid in classic and I couldnt even make it to level 35 because I wanted to jump off a cliff. Horrendous to level.
I agree, they are fun to play. I’m not sure that there is a better levelling experience than druid.

Wait what? Druids (feral) are one of the easiest classes (single target) to level, close behind hunters and warlocks. They have almost zero downtime, can heal, tank or dps any dungeon up to BRD even as feral.
You got fast movement speed, stealth for trick quests or avoidance of pvp. 1-60 druids are the most versatile class in the game. Unfortunately the suffer from alot of stigmatism at 60, because in fact they were crap until the class changes in late vanilla. Raiding is a different topic i dont want to open now.
I don’t have info from Classic, but on pservers it was always druids who were the least popular class. Warrior and mage were the most popular.
It’s fair. Druids are boring to play compared to the other classes I think.
I think mages are best solo lvlers now that we know they can solo aoe farm in zf gy from lvl 42 -53 at over 100k xp/h

That is why i excluded mages fron the conparison
