All melee dps have some leather in their BiS list. All healers have some cloth in their BiS.
That’s how it is in classic.
But also armor is completely useless in PvE unless you’re a tank so there’s zero reason to prioritize plate over other armor types as a melee dps.

Nope, most of the hit gear is leather and it’s the most important stat for dual wielding warrior, at least when getting your dungeon gear together.
No one bests an orc! Use plate and be more unkillable

There are a few other useful trinkets from quests while you wait for DM.
I personally judge hunters who would roll on this where you have a melee needing it selfish and greedy.
Of course, if you’re the only one needing it, go for it.
And of course now with DM, there’s zero reason for wanting it.

Even army equipment takes training to wear, run and fight with mate, trust me. And that’s lightweight modern stuff.
In raid, good guild use priority list. For example, you’ll not give a Head of Onyxia to a Hunter before all tank and War/Rogue got it. It doesn’t matter if the item is plate/mail/leather/cloth/blabla, it’s about how the item increase your damage and how long you’ll wear it. Do you want a Shaman Elemental with Staff Of Dominance before all Mage and Warlock got it ? KEK.
For non-raid items, everyone as a pre-raid BiS list, and Warrior need leather gear because it’s the best gear available to DPS. There’s no priority when you play in pug with random that you’ll never see in future.
It’s not ninja, it’s how you min max DPS and time.
Fun fact, a modern day soldier actually carries more weight with them than somebody in full plate. Plate is heavy, but not as heavy as you think.
A full set of plate armour would weigh around 15 - 25kg. My dogs weigh more than that.

100% agree, I too believe class gear has priority over BiS, that’s why i believe PVE in classic is an annoying mess, but to each their own, even for opinions.
It’s tough to be a pve boy since you have to invest a lot of time in your gear farming and i can understand it’s frustrating to see a piece of gear going to someone else who might have it with less try than you, it is, in other words, a “crude unfair loot system”.
However, as stated already, to avoid this mentality of your community that you disagree with, you have a very simple choice, make a group without others wearer of said gear or in our cases rogues … melee dps.
you may also state in your LFG ad, that “X” item is reserved.
and set loot to ML upon the boss’s try and you’re good to go.
If unfortunately you don’t manage to build up a group, although that’s unlikely unless you play on a desert server ( Flamelash, Judgement…)
Just be patient and wait for a better chance at gearing yourself, in the meantime, exploit people to your own means.
Rogues in particular have the best outcome for solo players and can make a quick buck, especially right now since instanced PvP is imminent.
If you can not plan a benefit over a time investment for a specific domain, change the domain.
“Class gear”? Class gear is your tier gear, and only people of your class will be competing for it.
BiS gear certainly isn’t required for MC and Ony, but the better your gear the faster your clear. The faster your weekly raid is out of the way, the sooner you can jump back to your pvp spec.
And I’m not losing out of pre-raid BiS items because a dirty rogue thinks they dhould be entitled to something because it’s leather. Guess what roguey, eye of rend is a leather item that is much better on a warrior than on a rogue.
How about wristguards of stability in MC? Rogues that roll on that will be laughed at.
Do you also think warriors should pass on the Savage Gladiator Chest; something that’s BiS til AQ40, for a hunter?
Here’s a lesson for you. There’s hundreds of rogues. There’s far more rogues around than the amount that are needed for the content; you don’t have the luxury of being picky.

Warlocks just buy best shadow dmg gear from AH aka other players thats the best teamwork and we dont steal any others loot thats why warlocks is best we do our thing and u do yours with ur silly fight over gear, wear ur coolest items and epics instead of noncence
Well i have been playing since closed beta, yes closed beta, probably same time when you were breastfeeding and trust be back then there was no way a warrior get a mail/leather item or a agility base stat ring.

I’d been working over 20 years in I.T. when Warcraft released. And you are wrong, I saw plenty of Warriors using agility, It provides crit which is good for Fury.
