Let players Raid with NPC

With the new leveling system blizzard have made for Shadowlands, We will be able to pick a certain Expansion to level our Char. This is great so we can experiance the entire story of Outland Northrend Cata pandaria etc etc etc.

The only Problem is that the player wont be able to finish the story because it happens in Raids. I think it would be ideal for players to be able to finish the story if they wish. And my solution to this would be a NPC Raid for the Zone you have chosen.

This is content you shouldnt be forced to do, but you can if you wish to finish the story of the expantion.

To make it fun you could be givin certain missions for your spec/class within the raid in order to progress to the next boss.

I would agree with this but only with legacy raids… you know do the old content for story sake with the raids you described. but not shadowlands since its almost current expansion and it would ruin what little mmo retail still has…

Ofc. its only meant as a part of the story telling of the old content

Well great minds do think alike:)

Blizzard - “New players will go through BFA leveling zones to be up to date with the story in Shadowlands.”
Except the story takes a twist in 8.2 and 8.3 is unrecognisable compared to 8.0 and 8.1.

Leveling quests are just the x.0 of an expansion and the bulk of the expansion story is in the endgame quests, we really should be allowed to quest through later endgame content and have it give xp. With the final raid of the expac at the end of it all. So long as it isn’t stretched out too much.

How will people blame NPC healers?

Make a Npc complain about everyone and everything:)

We also need 2 NPCs that argue constantly resulting in the tank leaving and screwing over the group.

Npc will kick you for being bad

I tried this on the ptr last night… when I got to the scouting map to choose my zone it would only let me choose Tiragarde - other two were bugged :frowning:

Was weird being in BFA at level 12.

This is the true experience. Do it Blizzard!

My self-esteem would appreciate if it was spared being out DPS-ed by a tutorial level IA guiding a random grunt to battle/

Or demonhunter with super edgy name too

Way too much effort for something way too niche. They’d have to code several NPCs to handle each fight’s mechanics.

I’d rather have them make old raids be 5-man dungeons instead, maybe break them up like LFR or how Mechagon was broken up.

Also, I’m not sure how dead those raids are going to be, because from what I hear, they will drop level-appropriate gear. So your starting gear for Shadowlands will come from these places.

However, in general, the problem here is that the main story happens in raids, which shouldn’t be the case. Legion and BFA will age like bread, because too much of the plot is tied to the progression systems. This also is not okay.

The fights don’t need mechanics if it’s just to finish a storyline.

Yeah, having NPC’s in a raid can help in mechanics and learning what to do more than just one shotting everything in a raid at max level in previous expansions.

  1. It could be a much better way to learn to heal, tank and dps than proving grounds ever could.

  2. Raids are real world type learning, so many different fights to do and co-ordinate, even with NPC’s doing some of it as well.

Then you may aswell just do them at a legacy level and run in to one-shot the boss, like you can do now.
