What was the casually racist point you were trying to make anyway, that a company test drove an idea before implementing it in the wider game? Why does it make it less valid that people from eastern nations requested it, is their opinion not worthy in your mind? If not, what ethnicity making such a request would you deem acceptable?

Now you’re just being obtuse. Everything Blizzard does is informed by the fans and what they think and feel. And that’s not a bad thing. Bolvar Foredragon becoming The Lich King? Re-written from Tirion to fit the emotional fan response after the Wrathgate cinematic.
With Blood Elves there was a desire for a more aestethically pleasing race on the Horde, so Blizzard forged a cool lore and story approach to introduce Blood Elves as a Horde race.
