Lets discuss about artistic direction in TWW and goblins future updates

Hi guys. I play wow since the beginning, and lets be honnest, the artistic direction for this extension is pretty bad, the upcoming update with goblins city and cars looks terrible… I mean, do you guys really want to see this in world of warcraft ? Driving damed cars on asphalts roads, really ? Ok dragonflight was a bit off the usual roads and we missed heroes like thrall etc but this?
What do you think about it?

I think i love it. This lore has been in the game for many years.
Actually you could even visit Kezan on the goblin starting quest. which looks very much the same. So, i have no idea what you are on about and you got too much time on your hands to be nitpicking things to this level.

Im not nitpicking, I just dont like what this extension looks like, I loved dragonflight, and shadowland was wonderful ( just visually I mean), if you like goblins lore, glad for you, its a discussion my friend no blame here.

I dont like this mario kart feature, they are ruining the game by including stupid and non sense things like that

I ll not use this stupid car, I m not hurry and I ll continu to use my poney.

Undermine is a location in lore and going there in an underground expansion makes sense. Not sure what you were expecting from a goblin themed patch.

I honestly don’t accept criticism on this.

We just came out of a whole dragon expansion with a hyper elven nature end patch theme and we already know that we go into a hyper elven theme again with midnight.

That tiny one patch if goblin content must be Oke

That was the Kaldorei one, brace yourself for the Thalassian one.

And you know what I am absolutely cool with it.

I am not the biggest elve fan if I would have to decide we would have a lot more goblin gnome and forsaken coded content but I am super cool with elve content cause I know many people like it.
But ever since undermine got announced I see so many people complaining even so we get so little goblin content

Yeah, I mean people are welcome to complain, any race-lore content is always welcomed.

What the previous posters said, a Goblin themed city is amazing and I’m looking forward to it.

There is nothing to criticize here at all. Everything that i’ve seen looks dope. They did a great job capturing the Goblin culture. Let other races shine for a bit.

You know after all that elve stuff in midnight they should make all of the last titan gnome and vulpera coded.

The forum would burn

its the bobby kotick DLC

I personally enjoy World of Warcraft the most when it’s grounded in its roots familiar races, rich lore, and the world of Azeroth as we know it. Goblins are a perfect example they’re chaotic, inventive, and bring so much character to the game.
Expansions like Cataclysm, where they played a big role, felt true to what WoW is supposed to be.

Shadowlands, on the other hand, felt like a fairy tale gone wrong disconnected, cringy, and completely out of place in the Warcraft universe.
To me, it was a poor attempt at innovation that ignored what makes the game great.

If you’re someone who enjoys WoW when it strays into weird, unrecognizable territory, that’s fine.
But I’m someone who loves the game for what it originally stood for, and I can’t get behind expansions that lose that essence.

I love the theme of the new raid and patch. I don’t care much about the story, but I truly appreciate the theme. I would enjoy it even more if World of Warcraft returned to Alliance vs. Horde gameplay, as that was an essential part of the game’s identity.

I’m still waiting for more tauren stuff, I want more tribal headresses and attire/armors and armaments, etc.

Not everyone is bound to like all esthetics. That is the thing. What is cool is variety. Sometimes its elves, sometimes its goblins…

Its never orcs though. :frowning: We are always the bad guys… or some spineless homestay dads…

There is nothing wrong with the art, just the theme. I despise anything goblin and I really don’t like tech in my fantasy as is. They have done a great job making the most horrible, run down, janky and depressing goblin tech style. It is completely on point.

It is great. I can’t wait to see it in action. Would be cool If we could gather/buy certain parts of the car so we can customize it like in NFS. Since it is goblin tech I expect that it will randomly blow up but this is probably not going to be implemented for obvious reasons.
I hope we will have a lot of option for customization.

I’m not a fan of Goblin stuff. I’m just not.
And if I am to have it, then I can kind of get behind the Booty Bay and Rachet style of Goblins. Vibrant and open and light in style.
But the dark underground scrapheap and urban slum style is just not my thing, at all.

I also don’t quite get the way Undermine is tied to The War Within.
I always had the impression that Undermine was part of the south seas along with the Plunder Isle and Tel’Abim. You know, a kind of pirates of the Caribbean vibe area.
But now Undermine apparently sits right underneath Khaz Algar? That doesn’t really make any sense to me. How is Khaz Algar this undiscovered island if Undermine - the big Goblin city - is right there as well?
It feels a bit shoved in.

Story-wise I also can’t really see the hook.
What Blizzard seemed to present was some filler story with making reputation with the different cartels, and then the main story is some mysterious connection between Xal’atath and Gallywix. Okay, so Gallywix is going to help repair the Void Heart, right? That’s kind of a Goblin thing going all the way back to Deathwing. But it seems like a very small serving as far as advancing the main narrative is concerned. But hey, maybe there’s more.

My body is ready. Douse me in blood elven architecture and green quality world armour. I’ve been waiting for this since 2008.

I mean nothing is real right ? They can create whatever they want, and they chose cars races on circuit … It’s sad imo. Did you went to shadowland just for visiting? the landscapes are stunning, thats the kind of visuals I would like to see. I have the feeling that tww is way less developped, environments speaking.

Ok fair enough you are enjoying the lore, and I totally understand what you say. I was not picky on the lore / story but more on how it looks like. If you played warcraft 3 and wow classic, its more like a dark fairy tale with undeads, dragons and elves instead of modern society technologic steam punk theme. I dont like cars in reality and I dont like to see this in a fantasy game, because it is …
