Let's have a faction merge in 10.0!

that is so true, and even if there would be a full faction merge it would happen no question about that, that why I suggest communities where anyone can join and play togheter, or even let the players choose, like alliance talks to thrall and who ever is alliance leader, and aggrees on working together or not working together, if they choose to work together you can join what ever guild you want to, if not, you are locked to your faction, though maby guilds should stay faction locked, but communities free for all, so you dont end up whit half guild ally only and half both factions lol, that could become a problem.

I think that would be a win win for all, those hardcore horde or alliance can keep it that way, and those who choose to merg will merg.

Itā€™s not really a win for all. The game will be changed forever and the faction divide canā€™t ever return. Itā€™s only a win for those that want it.

There will be no avoiding what would have been the opposite faction on your team. The same will be true of merc mode. It has upset the Alliance greatly to have Horde amongst them in BGs.

I dontā€™ want a faction merge myself. However I think if itā€™s unplayable then something has to be done. But I hope they try everything else first.

Just allowing some kind of faction merge for PvE Only, which is at most 5% of the overall playerbase, wonā€™t imply that orcs would simply be allowed to roam in Iron forge or Humans being able to walk into Orgrimmar without being attacked by guards. Also, by this logic, most of tournamentā€™s realms should forbid playing the faction not being chosen by the competitors on the live realms and pvp merc should also be out. Oh, shoot, I heard pvp merc is a necessity.

If itā€™s the same as a faction merge to you then it should be a satisfactory solution.

Itā€™s not a faction merge to me no. Itā€™s not a feature I like but itā€™s not quite as drastic as making us all one big happy family.

I think thatā€™s sadly the best middle ground solution they can come up with as we canā€™t fight against demographics trends.

A friend was really excited at the prospect of a full faction merge, he wanted to reroll all his chars to Night Elves.

It makes no sense in the game for the factions to be friends but itā€™s not like everything has been making sense for some time.

The factions either are or arenā€™t. They start thinning the barrier between them theyā€™ll have to break it eventually. They know that and so do you.

probably, but if that happens, both factions has to go, or it would be unfair to one side, cant have horde dispand and become alliance, or alliance become horde, we need a new name then, and a neutral capital.

Then they should have never allowed lore characters to defeat those world ending threats :stuck_out_tongue:

They already did for PVP, which is the mode were factions are the most important.

Which proves the point. Here you are saying that they did it even if itā€™s for random battlegrounds and itā€™s very restrictive preventing any form of organization, you are already using it as an argument. Like I said, the more they thin the barrier between factions the more they have to break it and everyone knows it.

The ā€œfaction barrierā€ broke already back in vanilla, when the Alliance and the Horde cooperated in Silithus. Since then it have only been there for RP faction PvP purposes creating an illogical language-, tag-, and healing barrier for all non-ā€œfaction RPā€ PVE.

My take on is, that I really donā€™t care whether they merge factions, or just enable cross-faction PvE. The latter option seems to be the most acceptable, based on nothing but posts Iā€™ve read from people who are actually passionate about it.

A solution DOES need to happen though, Itā€™s getting tirering to read obnoxious Horde players who for some reason wants Alliance to die, and the Alliance players who do LFR-raid and believe everything is golden.
Even if completely ignore the main-talked about problem, high level PVE (and now PVP) the simple fact that we canā€™t play with all our friends is just insane.

People who donā€™t want to enable cross-faction play in some form are insane, and deserve to be ridiculed. Itā€™s the biggest issue the game has by far.

I think the fact that in classic games of WoW ( or in other words , the way WoW was in the past ) made it more intresting with " not alowing Aliance players join the horde players " in same server Ruleā€¦
It made part of the aspect of the RPG within the game; you are either a horde or alliance!

Not only these but these made peoples think twice before leaving an faction; they stick with their mates. And live the world of "WARR"craft of the game.

now days: players do not even care lore; they see that the hordes are now a more profitable faction so they run to the hordes like prostitutes, and when the alliance gain a faction advantage they run to the alliance and soon we end up lossing the WARRcraft of the game world of warrcraft?

Not only these but check the amount of popularity across all realms : more horde then alliance because no one cared any moreā€¦

WoW has become a shore pushing game for me to push your carracter up or be left behind in the dust like how sad it is in classic when you level an new alt and search for a group that you will not findā€¦ Why ? Because every one hunts the top gears top level etc?

I call Blizzard to rethink why they named WoW actual WoW , and what made WoW so uniqeu compare to other MMO or other games like it was uniqeu before in a lot of stuffā€¦ Because in the story line etc it is more about Sylvanas and people pushing gears, less the real purpose of what the game was named forā€¦ Just change it to damnation in place of WoWā€¦ FFSā€¦

Although I prefer that the Horde and Alliance remain separate factions since Iā€™m old school Warcraft. But if it happens they decide to make both factions join as one then indeed it need to have a different name and also that they say ā€œFor Azerothā€.

However I also like 10.0 to be that we return to a new Azeroth, going back to the roots of Warcraft, Savage and Gothic Azeroth. The Armors and weapons are based of the themes of Warcraft 2 and 3 like the stuff we see in exile reach. New and updated areas. Some dungeons and raids have now become new leveling zones or some dungeons becomes raid and is much larger than before. Also when we return to azeroth there is no need for champions for the time being so the champions are on ā€œLeaveā€ for the time being to become adventures again, to explore azeroth again. Citizens/people need help with ā€œProblemsā€ in the world left in the wake of war. As alliance have been at war with the horde or legion and what not. The nobles and citizens of the alliance had to rely on mercenaries to take care of problems with bandits, rowdy savage orcs etc etc.

And also there has been growing concerns within the alliance and horde. Some members of the alliance have lost faith in the alliance and has left the alliance to start their own small factions. Same for the horde members. And also some that just did not accept that there is now peace between horde and alliance and have become a hostile faction for both horde and alliance. Some villages and towns have build walls around them and shut them self from the world. Same for the horde. Old enemies and new enemies have risen up from the shadows like scarlet crusade, twilight hammer etc. And in stormtalon peaks ahve been taken over by the arakkoa and saberons. In south barrens the overgrown has expanded and been taken over by the Botani. Some areas have been taken over by the scrouge now that the Lich king is no more the scourge have been divided to smaller factions with new leaders. The Vrykul have been coming by longboats and are attacking in both Kalimdor and Eastern kingdoms looking for places to plunder riches.

The alliance players help the Worgen to reclaim Gilneas and after claming it phases/becomes a faction city for the aliiance and the outside becomes leveling areas. Helping the local worgens. In darkshore the alliance players help the night elves with rebuilding a home and you get quests to keep out hostile NPC or reclaim old ruins etc.

The Forsaken tries to reclaim lordaeron back as scourge trying to take over the keep/castle. Once the forsaken retaken lordaeron the oversite becomes a faction city. With Calia Menethil help they are able to become more like lordaeron once were. And the Keep and Tirisfal glades becomes once again a gothic knght kingdom theme. The void elves builds up a keep/fort in Telogrus rift and have several outpost in azeroth, helping the alliance.

The forsaken can get customizations of backstraight and more meat on their body to almost look like the Stormwind humans and the male forsaken can have beards and human ā€œLivingā€ eyes and skin (But have a tint of grey in the skin so it looks like they are decomposing, freshly killed forsaken) so they almost look like Stormwind humans but still undead, still forsaken. For Nightbonre, well that customizations video that came up on wowhead says it all for the nightborne. Kultirans to have Drust themed customazations with glowing drust eyes and glowing drust runes. And also a more body like rexxar/Barbarian from diablo 3 since kultirans are based from barbarian from D3.

Brann Bronzebeard wants to discover more about the old Ironforge and inside the old ironforge Brann quickly finds out that the old Ironforge holds a dark secret and we encounter creatures there that has not been seen for several 1000 years. And the Old Ironforge should have a dark atmosphere so you need a light source going down in the depths of old ironforge.

In westfall the sentinel hill is slowly being rebuild after the attack from Newly form Defias Brotherhood. A noble from Stormwind hired a mercenary band to drive out the Defias bandits and retook westfall from the bandits. Moonbrook have been rebuild to a working villiage again and the dead mines is in production again, mining iron and other minerals. But the Nobleā€™s Mercenary band have stumble upon something in the mines that they canā€™t handle and need the help of the adventures.

A Noble has taken interest of exileā€™s reach to find new materials and sent an expedition there that never reported back. So Alliance and Horde players are sent back there to discover the Island is much bigger than was previously thought.

Then we can have Archaeology expanded where we go out in to Azeroth/Outland/Dreanor etc looking for clues to ancient armors and weapons that are broken and we take them to a certain blacksmith for each faction. Like ancient Night elven armor and weapons that is 10000 years old or more from ancient heroes or common soldier and take that to a Night elf smith or for the horde a Nightborne smith in Suramar and the coloration will be based on the race faction.
For the Blood/Void elves is ancient High elf armor and weapons and coloration will be based on blood elves color or void elves. For humans it be ancient Human armor and weapons, which will be Vrykul looking armor and weapons for Stormwind humans and for Kultirans, Vrykul/Drust theme barbarian armor etc etc.

It is true that factions no longer make sense as before. Now, even on pvp servers, 99% of players play with warmode turned off, and the only difference between them is that one cannot share a loot with another player with an orange nameplate.

I would leave the division to an alliance and a horde, but so that in non-pvp zones they could perform all activities together. And by all I mean really all, not just elites and world bosses.

I thought the horde basically played Blood Elfs and Vulperas, except for 0,00001% of die hard veteransā€¦
