Now as the Community Council is in place, let’s remind their members to push Blizzard in regards of factions and their place in the current lore.

Here is some spoiler to you , it is not gonna happen we are all here because of the war and turmoil and more turmoil there will be.

Speak for yourself.

I stopped caring about the story and the faction conflict in WoW many years ago. It’s a relic from the past. Horde and Alliance have been working together to fight bigger enemies for the last couple of expansions. I’d very much like to play any race without limiting who I can play with.

Yeah then let the Alliance playerbase fading. Sounds like a brilliant plan.

Might aswell remove the Alliance at this given point.

Faction merge would let anyone play the race they wanted.

I could, for example, go full on gnomerino and still chill with 'em Horde boiz.

That’s what any sensible player would want but as you can see, most of cross faction pve are not pragmatic people to begin with.

It’s what it should be, what else would the point be of a faction merge?

At this point in the lore, factions make very little sense. It should’ve happened after Legion already.

The factions can keep their place in the lore.

But players need to be able to rise above them and group up with other players. Feel free to tie NPCs to factions, feel free to have guards eject opposite-faction players from cities, but the game can not survive having the withering playerbase divided up like this. Shadowlands has tanked sub numbers; even Blizz must be worrying about it by now. They need to do something.

And see, the thing is… if Alliance becomes dead; if guilds can’t recruit enough people to make a raid group, if players can’t find people to play with… not all of us will faction swap. Some of us will just go away. Enjoy those PvP queues boys.

Failure to allow cross-faction player cooperation (which is not a faction merge, nor does it imply any race in any city) will kill this game. It will tank subs even more, it will end world PvP entirely, and it will make battlegrounds feel silly as all players are regularly playing for the wrong team.

Rubbish the Alliance player base is always gonna exist though at the point not as much as the horde, not gonna happen !

You can play every race yo uwant just make another char , no excuses, anyway it is not gonna happen keep dreaming wow is about war and new war between our factins there will be !

Naw, WoW’s about furries, cat mounts, pajama and clown suit transmogs, and politically correct representation of diversity.

The theme of war has completely died off, also because the main Shadowlands story line is some :poop: about an emo edge lord who likes teleporting around the universe for unknown reasons. It’s not about Azeroth, Horde, and Alliance. The end of BfA’s story basically already confirmed that the Horde and Alliance conflict has ended.

And it shouldnt after Legion.

Wars can happen without faction wars.

Which factions, again? You sound a lot like you are unfamiliar with the direction the factions have taken since the Horde stopped being Legion puppets.

The current factions have no desire to go to war, and there are plenty of diplomatic contact between them softening up for a coming official unification for Azeroth.

Excuse me where do you get that from ? Peace is one thing, and right now factions are leaning towards that indeed (not all races though, i.e. Kaldorei, and there have been similar eras of peace before). But political unification is something completely different and I’m not seeing anything indicating that’s where we’re heading.

(I also would hate that but that’s another topic)

Devs have pretty much ruled out a faction merge. It’s not possible to do.

They are looking at adding a kind of mercenary mode for PvE stuff like Pugs.

Faction merge is possible but the devs need to let go of the past and stop being uptight with their predecessor work, it would be better to see them doing something innovative and new than recopying the same past systems in to a new expansion over and over, looking at you mission table!
