Let's settle this. Which is the most iconic race for the Hunter class?

I am quite torn between Night Elf, Blood/Void Elf, and Dwarf.

How about you?

Dwarf.
100% you cannot get that wrong.
the game itself says it too!
the vanilla cinematic…
the creationg screen that if you don’t touch classes it will give you one for each race… (human paladin, Dwarf hunter, night elf druid… etc)

If we are talking about Alliance side, the most iconic choice would be: Dwarf.
I would probably chose a Night Elf Hunter due to the aesthetics. Second best choice. However, my first class choice for a Nigh Elf character would be: DH followed by Druid.

I have a Blood Elf Hunter. Two to be more honest. 1 at level 51 and the other as free to play character level 20. But I see them more like Rangers, than Hunters.
Example: The Windrunner sisters.

Edit: Typing.

Cheers.

Night elf hunter of course! For all the male nelf hunters named Legolas!

For the alliance, Night elf and dwarf, no questions asked.
For the horde, I’d say Tauren

This, despite the majority of Alliance hunters being night elves back in the day.

And the melee hunters named, Drizzt, and their panther pets!

Gun Dwarf.

Dwarf. There should be no doubt. End of discussion. Blizzard, you can close this thread now.

Most iconic race for Hunter class? That is a gross oversimplification.

For Survival and MM with Bow: Night Elf.

For MM with Gun: Dwarf accompanied by a bear.

For BM: Blood Elf accompanied by two… what is those flying pets called again?

I usually prefer Bow when I play Hunter. So I would say Blood Elves, and Void Elves (after they were introduced as Allied Races.) Personally Void Elves are still in first place for me, though. So my character (Alesta) is a Void Elf, and she’s my ßae. :purple_heart:

Night elf or dwarf! Depends on wether you will use bows or guns imo.

Depends on your background.
In Classic with a generic fantasy background, night elf. Also feels fitting lore-wise.
In BC, blood elf would take the role of Legolas, visually a bit awkward, though.
With a WC3 background, thinking about sharpshooter / sniper, dwarf of course. As horde, troll spear thrower is the same.
Apparently orcs also have a hunting background.

Newer races are fun and interesting, but not iconic.
(In classic, tauren lore is great for hunters and druids, just nothing iconic about the race. In WC3, they were big melee units, so warrior.)

But I just like Bows

Because I used Marksmanship to be an archer

Guns is an engine machine shooting Imo.

But bows are physical and nature weapons Imo.

Night Elf since they seem to embody all 3 hunter specs greatly.

You can have a Night Elf Archer (MM Hunter), a Night Elf with sabers and owls (BM Hunter) or a Night Elf wielding a small glaive and dagger, with a saber by her side (Surv Hunter.)

I say druid, warrior and hunter are the best classes for Night elves since they are the ones wich represent their culture the most.

nelf male Ready pose with 2h weapons (not staves and spears) is just odd.
same for 1h weapons o.O

Night elf females look awesome with 2 handed weapons! But i agree with need better ready poses especially for one handed swords and shields and bows, we are still the best race tough, obviously!
