1-50 4 hours??? Maybe in your dreams. Even with XP buff we had at summer it wasn’t that quick. I leveled a rogue not long ago and 30-50 and then 50-60 takes painfully long!

The only difference is: 4 hours is for people who optimize the crap out of the leveling process, not someone leveling normally. Your regular person who’s not reading quests would take like 10+ hours. If you take your time and read quests it’ll take days. Otherwise, yes, it’s completely possible so they aren’t lying.
I mean 4 hours is definitely on the tryhard side of the spectrum given that Despmephisto’s records during prepatch (so prepatch +darkmoon buff) was 3 hours and 33 minutes 1 to 50.
So not considering those buffs (given that the avg player level up whenever they like and not line up buffs) and not considering the tryhard mindset of average i would say a normal person could easily go for 10ish hours to level 1 to 50 if they focuss a little bit without optimizing.

They overdid the power nerf. And the XP nerf was unnecessary. Yes, levelling is vastly faster now anyhow, but people who want to blast through the levels should be allowed to. I mean, when Blizzard are selling boosts, no standards are maintained any more.
To be fair, they needed nerfing, but Blizzard’s motto is: “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth OVERdoing.”
If Blizzard drove a car, it’d spend half its life in the right-hand ditch, and the other half in the left-hand ditch,

Which, looking at it the other way, let a lot of sub-par to bad players, malingerers and hangers on through to max-level.
Swings and roundabout though, eh! 
I like the heirlooms still even though their xp buff is gone. Makes the leveling easier as I don’t have to worry too much about gear upgrades. I can just zoom from quest to quest and once in a while sell the inventory of my bags.
Regarding the speed of leveling, it’s not bad. Honestly, if you want a max level player either buy a boost or stick with it. The effort is worth it and quite frankly, it’ll help you hone your skills. If the leveling is still too slow, start looking for means to improve it. The Darkmoon Faire buff, speed potions and the likes, it all talleys up. Get professional about it.
With that said, I propose an alternative: slow down and smell the roses. Leveling a character is an opportunity to relive parts of Azeroth that you might’ve forgotten about or missed.
Bring back old heirlooms.
Was it stated tested and proven that you level now just as fast as you did with heirlooms as you were with them? Pretty certain alot of people tested this out.
I think yoyr simply misremembering the levelling speed, and if they brought them back theyd likely nerf level speed to requalise it as its currently balanced to not have them
Another thing to consider is that Chromie let you avoid places you do not like.
Now i can level in zones i never touched before,to get Loremaster bit by bit and the process is overall more enjoyable imo and makes it not only faster but even feel less of a chore.

You did not recently level at all. Current leveling is THE fastest leveling of ALL of the expansions.
They buffed xp required by a lot. Even heirlooms nerf doesnt even I feel it.
Tbh I am ok with looms change - looms was way op in dmg. Normal gear players didnt even feel like they were contributing anything.
Honestly, they probably nerfed lvling so they can sell more character boosts.
It wasnt nerfed tho, it was actually buffed lol

It has been slowly nerfed over time imo. Especially with the removal of EXP potions. Sure, the normal lvling experience might be faster but for those that wanted to speed lvl it is indeed much slower as far as I know.
This is nothing to do with your first statement tho.
You think speed leveler buy boosts? Lmao no.
Speedlevelers do it to challenge themselves.
They wont buy a boost even if they doubled the amount of time taken because their fun is in beating their records.
For speedlevelers nerf is indifferent. They will still optimize the crap out of it.t
So how can you say it was nerfed if for 2 players the time is higher but for the other 98 is lower?
And also, we are talking obviously about unassisted leveling here.
Dont bring RAF+ people ready to summ+ 5 people party cause that is not speedleveling.
I highly doubt that old expansion solo speedleveling was faster that what it is right now. But feel free to prove me wrong.
I don´t mean that type of speed lvlers. I mean the ones that want to reroll a character and just get it up as quickly as possible. Including myself.
It was. There were 300% experience increase potions that lasted for 1 hour. You would basically fill your quest log, drink the potion and then hand in all the quests. I even kept one of those bottles for later use but they made it unusable
