We are not all bad (smiles) however you are certainly very right, education I believe does need a major overhaul, and those in the sector have been aware of this for a while.
I teach primary level because that is what I am most interested in, formative development, and because I believe if you promote and enhance early development across the board for all children, regardless, you improve later life chances and opportunities…
(cough) sorry, my passion got out there, let me shove it back in the box…
Still my confidence in current mainstream schooling was knocked considerably by their treatment of my son, who has complex additional needs, on the ASD spectrum like his parents but experiencing a much louder world.
So we actually home school, we are getting there with education, sadly though I feel, not quickly enough!!

Am in the same guild as them, and tbh like i said, super cringy,Werid and just down right peverted. Constantly liking weird creepy videos on the disc server thats constantly being moderated because of it, Constatnly being a creepy little wirdo to people in game. /W;ing them how much he “loves them and wants them in his life and how he cant live without them” sending them love songs that hes wrote and made ect ect, and yes i was one person to recive such messages. almost caused a relationship to breakup because of his actions towards 2 of the people And then further has made quite a few people quite the guild within a small 6 month window i think hes been the cause 7 or 8 people to leave

i was actually told i should teach by my secondary school careers advisor …
had i known this would be the state of education now i probably would of took that advice more seriously at the time.
i would teach the most important lesson… which is always thinking for yourself and making your own mind up… never take influences… because that is how messes like this get started.
if you are smart and confident in yourself… stuff like this would never exist.

Thank you, and I have to agree, education is slowly coming round!, it’s just a tiresome struggle as collectively people still are clinging onto the view of education based on the industrial era.
When, in actual reality, if we are honest, technology is moving so fast now, we can’t feasibly predict what is coming in 5 years, let alone 20 years.
Personally, I think you should maybe look into teaching, maybe at primary level, because your lessons and view points are needed as they are the very basis of formative character, esteem, resilience and confidence building.
I re-trained at 35 (grins)

I’m not going to comment further on this particular incident, but I will comment on the fact that usually the people most in favour of something being censored is the people who are most poor at controlling it.
But as far as WoW is concerned, I think it ought to be a space where people of age 12 and up can indulge in a slightly sexualised, but not a sexual, diverse fantasy world where everything is over-the-top and, to put it in the best Blizzard parlance, “badass”.
Anything beyond that and I don’t care. Anything that gets in the way of that and I have a problem.
So, having a 7 year old running around the place is fine by me, but having a 7 year old running around the game and then expecting everybody else to respect the fact that there’s a 7 year old running around the game? Nope, not okay with that.

If your child already knows what the slang, booty slapping means, then it’s already too late to “protect” them.
If they don’t know… then they don’t know and they wouldn’t give it a second thought.
Also, which is more concerning?
a) Some lewd words on a screen.
b) Graphical depiction of murder.
Which is more traumatizing for a kid?
a) Seeing some booty getting slapped.
b) Seeing somebody getting murdered.
Don’t get me wrong, i’m all for protecting kids innocence how far it can be, but if your kid was forced to witness one of the two, which would be more ethical to show them?
It’s just an experiment.
What would be the lesser evil?
Personally i think murder would be more traumatizing to a kid. The other would be more disgusting in a sense, so to speak. What do you (generally speaking) think?

i actually met a 13 yr old guy in a guild a lil while ago… and surprisingly he was more switched on and articulate than a lot of 20 - 30 yr olds i know.

I nearly got Gladiator with a 15 year old.
Now he’s 23, about to graduate 
It feels like he barely changed at all… and believe me, that’s a complement.

even seemingly smart people can be influenced if they do not know any better.
Would it be less bad if he hated them but would spend all his time on one of their forums instead?
