If you’re worried about your kid who is presumably 12+ seeing the name bootyslapper.
I suggest banning them from the internet all together.
If your kid is under 12 - well then you as a consenting adult only have yourself to blame.
Off topic; my first ever character was an orc warrior called ‘Wolf’. Damn I regretted realm changing.

That’s the thing with open discussion isn’t it though, it’s based around a chaotic principle really. Everyone has different views, their perceptions will all be different, often based on their individual life experiences, views and opinions.
Base assumption here is that the OP wants Blizzard to do more about the offensive player names in the game, per Blizzards own rules. Which could have been solved by the reporting system
However they chose to come here, chose being the operative word, on to an open forum to invite discussion, which they have. Quite an interesting discussion too…
Now that opens up perceived opinions on parenting, cultural and societal views of childhood, current game content, original game premise, standards of offense, vulgarism and lewdity, game age ratings and every branching, intersectional subject based around these concepts.
All the OP’s choice when they made the post, in essence, we can only invite discourse, we can never control it. True there are consequences to all interactions, but that is why I find any open discussion forum so much fun, because it’s always enlightening and also forces me to consider just how individual we all are

i think silly names (expecially guild names) makes the game a whole lot more interesting and fun …
i dont see where these people get off in trying to censor the world because they think everyone is offended at it because they themselves are.

Whenever I see someone with an offensive or childish name I just wonder how long it took for them to wish they hadn’t chosen it and for the joke to wear thin. Thinking of one I saw years ago. (not naming and shaming) smellybum. For goodness sake !
Possibly, but that’s a view point I don’t understand really (grins), so shouldn’t really comment. I understand my reaction is the only thing I can control, if I wait for the ideal, perfect world, I feel I’ll be waiting a loooooong time…

I think you got something wrong there. From my perspective reading here, the majority here is actually meaning that content in games is suited/allowed to be consumed at the beginning of a certain age range, which is for WoW age 12 or higher.
Sure, the consumers between 12-18 are still “kids/teenagers”, but the content is meant to be consumed by an audience of 12 or higher in their own age and that is what I think derailed here. Age of Consent and Adulthood have not really anything to do with “content age verification”.
That is the point where we left the original discussion, I think.
