smh 2021 and people still can’t see past what’s in front of their face.
The solution isn’t to make it into even more of a solo player game, it’s to make it more socially wholesome. The idea of the group finder for PvP shouldn’t be to always need to go back to the group finder; it should be to only need it until you find a team to settle down with.
inb4 people talk about “I can only play half an hour once every 6 months because IRL blablabla” you still don’t lose the ability to organize with people you’re familiar with to set aside a time in advance to play together. Even though you can only play once in a blue moon.
Once you have set aside time in advance to play together, it removes the need to spend time in the group finder or whatever entirely, and you can spend that little tiny amount of time simply queuing for arenas. Problem solved.
Simply put, the game needs to provide reasons for people to want to play together through the rough times and the good times. The goal should be to only need to use the group finder ONCE and then play together regularly with the same people. It leads to a more enjoyable time spent in the game overall as well.
It isn’t impossible, Classic has seen much more social interaction than retail has seen since Cataclysm. People simply move like sheep in reaction to the design.
