Idk, I love it for some reason. Once I did a few game with a rog from kazzak obviously 2 win then one lose and he left the group and /w me “you are so bad fatkid”. I cracked me up and constantly bursted out laughing at that the whole day. I don’t know if I was bad or just couldn’t carry him enough as I always had 2x-3x as much dmg as him.
smh 2021 and people still can’t see past what’s in front of their face.
The solution isn’t to make it into even more of a solo player game, it’s to make it more socially wholesome. The idea of the group finder for PvP shouldn’t be to always need to go back to the group finder; it should be to only need it until you find a team to settle down with.
inb4 people talk about “I can only play half an hour once every 6 months because IRL blablabla” you still don’t lose the ability to organize with people you’re familiar with to set aside a time in advance to play together. Even though you can only play once in a blue moon.
Once you have set aside time in advance to play together, it removes the need to spend time in the group finder or whatever entirely, and you can spend that little tiny amount of time simply queuing for arenas. Problem solved.
Simply put, the game needs to provide reasons for people to want to play together through the rough times and the good times. The goal should be to only need to use the group finder ONCE and then play together regularly with the same people. It leads to a more enjoyable time spent in the game overall as well.
It isn’t impossible, Classic has seen much more social interaction than retail has seen since Cataclysm. People simply move like sheep in reaction to the design.
1 out of 5? Don’t be so generous mate Sometimes I’m not sure if it’s the game that perpetuates crazy behaviour or it simply attracts a certain kind of people more.
It’s both, it creates a feedback loop. But since this is the arena forum I’m just gonna assume people will only read the last comment so I’m gonna quote the comment above yours just to make sure it isn’t overlooked like the last one was:

Then say that when playing arenas using solo/duo queue, arena rating point changes due to wins/losses are 50% of what they would be if you played with premades. Hence, there is an incentive to play as premades as it would be a faster route to increase your rating.
Except there’s no way in hell people would be ok with that. The pro-solo queuers would cry incessantly if they’d be treated differently than the “premades”.

This is an asumption I do not agree with.
However, I agree with the fact that people should be able to have LFM arena announcements on while queueing for other stuff.
Regarding the mmr formula changes, I do not think it fundamentally solves the problem of reducing the amount of time people looking for teammates to queue.
Ok now I’m genuinely curious, why do you think that? I mean, I’ve already laid out my argumentation for it, so mind saying why you don’t think it would work? Or is it just your intuition you’re basing it on?
It’s good I think as a solution to “I loose a lot of rating because of the first few games it takes to get accustomed to my new teammates” and can see an improvement in that. However, it does not reduce the amount of time it takes to find new teammates.
Well, of course it doesn’t reduce the time you spend to find new teammates the times you actually go out of your way to look for more people. But the social glue would make everyone more inclined to want to play together more regularly with the same people they’ve overcome those “penalty games” with, rather than simply jumping from person to person to person to person in an endless loop that never ends.
Another way to put it is that it makes everyone more likely to want to settle down with a team, which would remove the need to go back to the group finder or reduce it drastically from that point forward.
