If you don’t time, then you lose rating to prevent boosting giving you a false long term mmr. In the end this will be a numbers game, where you can get unlucky, but I think it will improve gamequality and people actually get to play the game. Also, it will really punish people, who leave timeable keys often, and they will be stuck at low mmr

So if i dont time it i lose rating, and assumably this can happen on repeat so i can end up back at 0 rating? Which means i have to start back at +2.
And i have literally zero control over this because i have to use the automated queue which can group me with any old random player and comp?

Jokes aside, yeah, there could be some thresholds or protection. Maybe you just lose a little bit rating, and you gain more than you lose? Maybe you lose nothing, if someone leaves before the timer, and the leaver gets -100? If you keep failing every key, at some point it’s a common denumerator issue though…

At least if i invite someone to a key and they screw it up i can just go do the same key again but with your system i could have my whole gameplay wrecked by a group of people i dont know, didnt pick and would not have chosen to group with anyway!

If you check graph right now for EU you will see that 2620 (which lets be honest is really close to 2700) is top 10% players, which is nothing special. Pretty much everyone with gear and some knowledge of mechanics can reach that level.
Good players are top 5%, maybe even at top 2% which is 2900+
“Average” is half way up, better than average is normally called “good”. While this has some subjectivity, top 10% of any population is by most measures better than “good”.

I don’t really think you need to find a community for keys until you go really high that you need to find a set group to play together. At least up to 21s/22s I like you find many keys at LF all the time. I honestly don’t know how many would be interested to try and push for 20s, that late into the season that if you run couple times the dungeon to understand mechanics you are carried by ilvl alone. Most of the times a guildie can help them faster than try and make a group.
A lot of people buy boosts just because they have more money than time. They might also be AH goblins that want transmogs/portals/mount but they are very bad pve players and do only gold making.

We need 20% tanks 20% healers 60% dps players. Right now we have 8-12% of tanks same healers and rest dps. Tanks and healers won’t use it as they have more options and want to control what group they are into.
We have seen it at overwatch. 90% of people wanted to play dps, even people that queued as tank wanted to play dps. We had a role queue eventually that had like 1min wait time for healers, instant for tanks and 10 mins for dps. What is the difference if you end up have to wait 40 mins in the queue to do a key -btw whose key is going to be? and would you risk your key getting downgraded with randoms that have no clue about mechanics even they have timed previous level?-.
Blizzard need to solve the issue of people refusing to play tanks and healers. Also healer is fine if your party are not idiots. Your job is not to compensate for bad players, nor to be able to heal them to full every global because they can’t avoid damage. Healers exist just they don’t join bad groups.
She misses the only point that matters. Automated MM pushes the responsibility on blizzard. After 1 week the whole forum would be on fire because 90% of groups fail and blizz would have to either remove it or nerf M+.
And to be clear. SoloQ wouldn’t reduce the wait time for DPS, it would equalize it. Meaning the cream of the crop who gets instant invites right now would have to wait, idk, 20 minutes, just like those who barely get invited once per hour now.
