Ok, i get it, LFR is a meme for many people.
Just hit 80 on my alt and headed to LFR to pick up some gear, yesterday and today the same thing is happening, high ilvl people (616+) are all needing on gear when they clearly dont need it. It also feels like not enough loot drops for 25 people. This has to be extremely offputting for new and casual players alike.
thoughts?
Ive stopped doing it.
I used to do LFR all the time.
It’s very unrewarding. Most often you end up spending a lot of time for no reward at all.
Even if something you need drops and you roll for it, anything below ~90 is not going to win you anything.
And everyone just rolls need on anything they can, because why not?
Personal loot would be such a blessing for LFR, but Blizzard seems hellbent on keeping group loot for some reason.
So I don’t do it anymore.
It’s simply too unrewarding for the time you put into it.
My thoughts are the same as theyve been since they started this loot roll disaster. LFR at the very least should have personal loot, or make it impossible to roll on something when you have higher ilvl gear equipped, in your bags or bank.
M+ has personal loot and it takes 20-50 runs for people to get an item and usually it’s by someone trading it to them.
As people love to say “RNG is RNG”. Your chance of getting something useful depends on the number of items that drop in total, the individual droprates and the number of items on the bosses loot table.
But casual and new players should cherish the opportunity to gear up slower, after all WoW isn’t a race. Us “sweaty tryhards” just want to gear up ASAP instead of sitting down, fishing and enjoying the journey.
Yeah I think there’s a general game-wide sense (at least for me) that everything is just too unrewarding and not enough loot drops for the activities you do. And that’s true for LFR as it’s true for dungeons and quests and simply killing mobs.
The game is way too stingy when it comes to handing out rewards.
Blizzard could easily double the amount of loot dropped anywhere and it would not seem like a change that’s out of proportion.
Does it take 20-50 runs to get one single, any, piece of loot in m+?
Nah you have a 40% chance of getting an item, but it’s almost never an upgrade. If blizzard would check they’d see I’ve traded away roughly 95% of the items I get.
When you are gearing up and do keys that give gear at an ilvl that can give upgrades you get a LOT more upgrades, how did you even come to that logic?
I did lfr on several characters every week through all of DF and i won an item ONCE.
Because raids drop half as many items per player as M+ and they have a weekly lockout.
In other news: water is wet.
Raids only felt rewarding 15 years ago when they were the only source of gear. And when there weren’t 5 different difficulties with different gear tracks.
Go ahead and ask blizz to bring back PL, I couldn’t care less. But you’re wasting your time as it won’t change the fact that everyone will get their gear from M+ and the vault. (even though both are RNG infested sewers)
Im asking for PL only in LFR by the way, group loot can stay in normal and hc. Either that or change the rules and make people with higher ilvl gear or higher track gear anywhere, unable to need on it.
So if you get a garbage trinket you’ll never be able to roll for your bis one? Or replace a generic item with tier set? Or get an item for better secondary stats? Or a better weapon…
We couldn’t care less what loot system is in NM, HC, Myth etc. raids mate, because gearing from raids is trash in general. All our serious members farm gear+crests+vault from M+ and essentially spit on those who need on raid gear from our reclears (which waste our raid time we could spend progressing).
Instead of fighting over breadcrumbs you guys should at least try to suggest something that doesn’t punish random people just because you don’t care/can’t foresee the problems it causes.
Or stop making suggestions altogether if you can’t.
Thanks mr biggest elitist on the forums boss, i will take your advice to heart.
In the meantime, please change LFR back to personal loot, thanks Blizzard!
i think you are misunderstanding this thread, its about high ilvl people intentionally taking gear from those that need it, your comment about spitting on casual players shows just the kind of player you are, take your toxic bs elsewhere thanks
The same happens in personal loot, you just can’t see it. -as it has been pointed out a million times by now-.
If it makes me toxic and elitist to have minimal understanding of game systems, then I’ll gladly accept the stigma.
Blizz already implemented limits on what people can roll on if they have higher ilvl, apparently it failed, so you might wanna start with that.
If i join lfr, personal loot a piece you want, you ask me and i say no or “yes give me 100k”.
What changed exactly?
And besides trasmog is a valid reason for rolling.
It was either made less strict or it’s currently broken.
Yesterday in LFR on my alt, I rolled need on some boots that were a huge ilvl upgrade for me (550 to 593 or so). The guy who won already had 610 boots. No idea how he was able to roll need on that.
Well this is what we wanted right ?
First Blizzard tried throwing gear left and right. But only 5% of that gear was actually useful or an upgrade. People complained.
Then Blizzard said OK, here is gear left and right and everything is an upgrade. Now, people got fully decked in gear in 1 week and complained they had “nothing to do”.
Then blizzard said aright… you get gear 5% of the time and always an upgrade. 95% of the time you get nothing. People complain.
Now Blizzard said OK. You get gear 5% of the time, its always an upgrade. And 95% of the time you get crests to upgrade said gear. People complain.
People complain all the time about “rewards”. I mean, at this point you all sound like monkeys arguing about bananas in a zoo…
Just play the game, do what you like to do and thats it. Gear will fall from the sky afterwards.
What this means is: OP, you LIKE raiding LFR or not ? If YES, then do it. If NO, then dont. Dont worry about gear.
No, the following is what makes you toxic and elitist, allthough more elitist than toxic, ill give you that.
And that has been rebutted the same amount of times by a lot of different people so whats your point there?
Dude…if people weren’t rolling against each other in PL, it would mean statistically there’s a chance all 25 players get a loot. Which is false. The number of items that dropped in PL was constant depending on the player count.
Plus needing on something gets you an upgrade, PL gives you useless duplicates most of the time, so you can’t just compare how many pieces you get per week.
We only seem elitist in contrast to you guys.
In all likelihood they’re there for transmogs. Blame Blizz for not having separate cosmetic rolls for the ever useless “transmog” roll so the actual item goes to people that NEED on it.
