LFR without LFR difficulty

Since some people complain about LFR, I had this idea. How would people feel if instead of having an LFR difficulty, you just had the LFR system which let you go into normal or heroic raids rather than the LFR version (Feel like Mythic would be a bit over the top)? I think it would make LFR groups much more sociable because people would actually need to coordinate more and speak.

EDIT: Since people seem to me misconstruing this as a suggestion for what I want, it’s not. I’m fine with the current system, and don’t think it needs any changes personally.

Sure if you want to spend your life inside wiping.

Just use the group finder and join normal/heroic groups. Or start your own.

When I want to raid that’s what I do anyway, this wasn’t really an idea that would be the kind of thing I’d use.

People AFK in LFR and can’t do simple “get out of the fire” mechanics… to have those people in Normal or Heroic is pure unadulterated madness.

The Premade Group Finder works fine already…

I am not sure what i think of queueing for higher than LFR difficulty, but i certainly like the winged-style of LFR. You now have to prepare 12 bosses instead of 3

Could the OP start a raid group and use auto-invite?

If so, let us know how it goes :+1::grimacing:

Player-made groups offer similar flexibility. It’s pretty common that people come and go as they only look for specific bosses (loot), something comes up, etc. There are almost always groups in the tool that are currently at the boss you want to kill, so you can jump in at the desired location.

Sometimes it works out pretty well… first day of Antorus I just took anyone and we had a blast

I’m not saying that this is something that should happen, or something that I would even like. Like I already said, I already use the group finder when I feel like raiding. I just wanted to gauge peoples thoughts on this. Don’t assume that this is something that I would like.

Giving everyone the ability to auto que into HC would probably be horrible. Every wipe would end up in a kick fest.

Some will be truly willing to learn, but probably lot would just try to leech from the raid.

LFR is fine and it doesn’t take much to get into a normal.

There are often a group for unexperienced players like it was when I tried it in Legion.

The problem with players that don’t join normal is that they are afraid to get kicked because they have not read up on the tactics, doesn’t know how to dps proper or want to kill the end boss before learning the other bosses.

Players have not patience to engage one, two or three bosses per time and expect to get boosted and free lot from all the bosses without learning how to play.

People who generalize LFR as being something they can just go afk in have an utter disdain for other players and are people I have no wish to play with. Thankfully most if not all of those types are spotted quickly and removed.

“Meh LFR hero… I laughed at your raid progression”

OK you go do that Mr Important if it helps you feel important… I feel sorry for you being so insecure about an optional difficulty mode.

However if you want an LFR without the finder you’re out of luck. Normal is there for you and pugging.

I don’t think it would work for all difficulties.

With the LFR system you can’t choose your group members.
If you’re doing high end content you want be more selective, some classes are more desirable than other for certain fights.
Arguably, on Normal difficulty you don’t need to be as selective as, for example, Mythic. In the case of Normal perhaps could work.
(Honestly I don’t see the difference between LFR and Normal raiding).

I think this mechanism would be impactful for social or mid-end guilds, since players could be more inclined to queue for x difficulty and do other things while waiting, instead of waiting for all guild members.

In my opinion, LFG works fine when it comes to pugging.

No.

To elaborate:

The ease of finding a group is not the only reason I use LFR.
The difficulty and knowing that I’m not stepping into a night full of wipe after wipe learning mechanics is a very big important other reason for me.

Also; I don’t WANT to be sociable in a raid. If I want to be sociable, I’ll contact my rl friends and ask if they want to go do something.

LFR is for casual players, who don’t want to be bothered. If you want to raid on higher difficulties - get a guild/use group finder.

The game mechanincs ih the BfA fights are really very good from LFR point. You can’t afk like before. You have to know what to do and do it or you will die, even cause a wipe.

I do LFR just to get to see the raids and I like the learning by doing-concept. I dont like having to study guides in advance and collecting all the bis. Now I read the info given in game, usually enough. It’s easy to get a group and relaxed.

My health issues are no problem either, if I have to leave after a boss they get a new dps instantly . I don’t like to let people down even if they are total strangers.

The idea of having a higher lvl is very appealing to me, I could probably do higher content after a few lfr and if I have to leave it’s the same as now.

I want that for ages. There are many people wanna do atleast normal or HC. I also prefer auto group finder for m+ also with some sort of ranking system.

Atleast those people will get chance. Also this will stop boosting also in somewhat manners.

I support your idea. It is funny that LFR with LFR difficulty is so convenient but if you want to jump on Normal difficulty. The convenience is not there.
No auto que, no auto teleport, no seperate wings. It is like Blizzard doesn’t want us to try Normal difficulty out.

Normal is not that hard and it is FUN. But organizing sometime is a bit too much. I can tell about that. I have organized many times PUG runs to Normal raids.

There are people who like to sociable and raid at same time. Like me. I support his idea.
