Liquid no longer has an AWC team

Please explain to me how this is not a really bad sign for the future of WoW PVP.

AWC has been a meme for years. Mind boggling how people still watch it. The last time it was entertaining to watch was when Drainer played prot pala.

To me it’s not worth to watch since pikaboo stopped, litteraly the only team in the game actually playing their main and really trying to score a kill beside playing passive for 10min since dampening win the game by default.

Pretty sure allot of those main populair pvpers are trying to make a move to LoL
Yes its a bad sign for the pvp scene. But i feel like wow is already incredibly unpopulair when it comes to e sports.

Wonder if overall pvp players and popularity dropt after they released Solo shuffle.
Imo I think the queue times where the final nail.

“Shut up pvp guy”
“we want the pve to be the ruling factor”

It shows. awc has way too little incentive to get invested in it. Pvp in general lacks rewards to bring people into it and continuously queue up. It’s literally not worth it to queue for the first 4 month of the season because you can get everything in 1 week of playing.

I don’t agree with that. The whole theory of adding “rewards” to the game to save PvP is a copium. Just look at all the other player vs player games. Most reward you with absolutely nothing and yet people still play. Doesn’t this indicate that WoW PvP simply isn’t fun? The old WoW didn’t give out participation rewards, and ladder activity was much higher. Solo Shuffle had a promising concept, yet created more problems than before. Big one is literally rewarding you with 90% cosmetics after 20 games.

It’s very wierd to explain, but somehow Retail PvP gets more complicated to understand but yet more braindead to pilot with each patch. Very impressive work done by the devs.

You are correct but if you add more reward with a higher rating requirement, people would be more interested to push higher than just 1k8 for the set.

Also they need to either hard nerf ss/bgb mmr to match 3v3 mmr or put different rewards otherwise any 0xp player can get ĂŠlite while having no clue in bgb but ĂŠlite in 3s is fighting r1 on their billion alt (the gap is absolutely ridiculous).

PvP has been garbage for a long time. 3v3 ladder is dead, 2v2 ladder is dead, solo shuffle is dead. Rewards can not be achieved by the average player, so the average player stopped caring and only sweatlords que pvp.

I miss him so much DrainerX was such a character Rly fun he was playing high rating but didn’t took the game serious and was a big :troll: troll funny too watch

His 2s dampening games where he run for 25 min where legendary

My theory for why retail PVP has become less fun to play and watch is that the gameplay is simply too fast now. If Blizzard slowed everything down to WotLK pace it would become watchable again.

Also the matter how they didnt compensate it on their rated system in general, that they added new separate mode in PvP when all modes depend on participation

Him and few other streamers were only ones who I actually liked watching, sadly most I liked have either quit or dont play retail. They are entertaining on their own way and its obvious they are smart people in general and hence good in anything they do and they dont try too much or engage with chat constantly if they dont wish to. The gameplay is what matters anyway not what ppl write in chat.

Solo shuffle was a really bad idea, and I regret ever agreeing with people who suggested such mode should exist.

Not that it’s the only reason. But it definitely feels like it was the main straw that broke the camels back.

I imagined Solo Q will be some auto searching for partners in standard arena mode. Not sure did anyone meant this kind of solo queue.

I would consider adding dampening rising with rating, so noobs can learn and pros dont play for hours one game.

I guess a positive spin on the whole thing could be that Liquid already knows the next AWC will be a Solo Shuffle tournament and that teams are obsolete now.

Nope, most assumed it would be something which we are familiar with from elsewhere which has double dps que for 2v2 and soloq for 3v3. I dont think anyone assumed we would get some complete new invention like shuffles or that it would be separated from arenas. I know ppl asked soloq for over 7 years in retail and I was glad to see they announced to put such but never I could had imagined they would separated it from arenas and not compensate it on the rating system which now is failing in arenas cause ppl are split in million modes.

same for me

i cant watch streamers like venruki trille cdew etc

drainer was for me atleast entertaining, and i liked his challenges when he boosted glad people to r1 selfplay

I liked pshero and ziqo too. But none of these play retail anymore. But Idk, they have made pvp in so weird spot now with blitz/shuffle and arena somehow trying co-exist with outdated rated system while there are not even enough players for arena anymore, I dont think any names in awc could get me watch it.

All rating in general just feel more or less pointless now, cant make sense of anything on seasonal rewards anymore. I see some ppl play nothing but blitz and having dozen characters on r1 spots in blitz and they have literally done nothing else all season even though they are previous glads and whatnot. So ppl just play what gives rating most. Or they play 3v3 only for the last 2 weeks of season, which also makes no sense at all as pvp system for it to work like this.

And the whole rated system makes no sense when there is so big difference between modes rating gains but the seasonal ranks are shared. They need to rework the entire rated system in pvp or it just continues being nonsensical.
