The problem is not the pace. Currently a lot of things in arena you do doesnt matter at all. Only win condition = play most broken spec, do perfect pve dps rotation, wait for random dmg proc and someone dies
It doesnt matter what pace when you press deff cooldowns and still die, because there billion of dmg modifiers. You need to overlap multiple deff cooldowns
On top of that, back in the days you could just pre kite, go to the pillar and survive even without being healed. But now if you do something like that, million of minions will follow and kill you meanwhile spamming random aoe dmg which goes through los
Who would enjoy playing game when nothing matters what you press and you can randomly die because there is million of different passives which randomly stacks and itâs impossible to track them without full nasa weakaura setup?
For AWC to be a success again the game needs to be FUN TO WATCH. And the current pace is pretty much unwatchable for all but the most hardcore arena fans.
it cannot be fun to watch because selling opponents tricks and bait is no longer possible, there is no much skill play in current pace⌠And even winners are determinated by luck in some games like âlucky critâ âlucky procsâ.
All it matter is what you play, and people get sick of it.
I think some randomness is needed to make sure matches donât get stale. But youâre right that lucky crits are the unfun kind of randomness. For me things like random obstacles in the arena and teams having to adapt to changing environments would be much more fun to watch.
Ever since we entered the CD trading era, the game has become hard to watch. And this era will never end, because of m+
I understand, why the donât invest ressources in retail PVP, but I have no idea why the keep AWC around. For that money, you could hire a pvp dev for a year, who adresses the systemic problems of retail
It just saddens me why AWC become a swamp while it had potential for millions of viewers. All because bad direction toward fast or utra paced which game took.
If they managed PvP properly by now it woud be a holy event, where winners are forged with skill and respect not a lucky crit or proc or meta slaving.
Winners woud be worshiped as PvP saints, but today people can only thow chairs and rotten vegetable to them, because most of wins are not gained by skill but by meta abusal, lucky crits and procs. Just remember how many times on AWC we saw players who are technicaly 3 levels above their opponents than just lose a game because luck smiled on undeserving team. All this are product of fast pace which is low skill gameplay in its core.
