Lock Picking Skill - Horde?

Hey,

So I’m trying to level up lock picking on my Forsaken Rogue but there seems to be a gap in the skill bracket which isn’t covered (I didn’t have this issue on Alliance side).

So looking on the different WoW classic guides they show:-

1-70 = The Merchant Coast, The Barrens.
70-110 = Windshear Mine, Stonetalon Mountains
110-150 = Durnholde Keep, Hillsbrad Foothills

I’m currently levelling in Hillsbrad and only have 82 lock picking skill so can’t open the footlockers their, so I’ve travelled across to Stonetalon Mountains and the Windshear Mine but the footlockers here are also out of my lock picking range (even though every online guid state I should be able to open these from 70 skill).

Does this mean I’m stuck hoping to find locked chests in dungeon runs to level up my skill??

You can get way higher at the Merchant Coast in The Barrens.

Chests stay green till ~100 and they are conveniently placed in one location with fast respawn.
I stopped at 95 which I got there in no time. Chests in Stonetalon were orange to me with that skill.

Yeah I thought that was the case but after 20 mins I’ve only gained 4 skill on the green chests so still a long way until the 110 I need :frowning:

I don’t know the exact numbers but I would try to get 90-95 in the ship and then go to Stonetalon to get 110.

Is 110 really enough? You might run into the same problem there.
All you can do is try it out. I am currently fighting the queue boss so I can’t check Durnholde for you. 3k right now - If you can wait a bit I can check it for you, because I am in Hillsbrad anyways.

Just travelled all the way to the ones outside BFD in Ashenvale (also listed as 70+) and cant open them either… well just fml…

have u tryed asking the rogue trainer?? there is an option to ask him where to go to lvl ur lockpicking further^^

Okay so I just checked out Durnholde.
The Footlockers in there are yellow to me at a skill level of 102.

Just go to The Barrens and spam click those chests and you should be fine.

And I totally forgot about what Ducimus said - Trainers should tell you were to go to level your skill!
