Hello everyone.
I’m looking for some advice for a few friends of mine that want to start Classic Anniversary, they wish to play Horde but they don’t know if they should go to the PvP server because it’s the biggest server around or if they should go to the PvE realm that has less people but the experience could maybe be more chill (?)
I’m unable to help them making this decision as I am playing Hardcore.
I have no experience of the PVE server but I can offer my perspective on the PvP server.
The PvP server still tends to have between 6-9 layers active at any given time, how layers work is if one area of the map is completely overwhelmed with players it creates a new layer to compensate, but this layer applies to the world as a whole. This means if your friends are levelling in STV and there’s 40 people in STV then there’s actually likely to only be 3-5 people in each layer of STV if 9 layers up.
The result here is that it’s easier to compete for resources and you’re much much much less likely to encounter wpvp . The drawbacks is that the world can often feel very dead.
Similarly, most people on the PvP server are already 60 and boosting seems to be the primary method of levelling alts. I’m unfamiliar with how boosting works for horde but generally speaking once you hit the point where boosting becomes a viable method to level up the alts the dungeon groups are non existent.
I suppose the long and short of it is they can pick PvP if they want the option for maybe having some wpvp if the opportunity arises, but otherwise I doubt it’s much different from the pve server.
Pve server maybe different in its culture to the PvP server but I can’t speak to that
