Loot (General)

rofl, 20 is that all ?

Because beating the same dungeon on the same difficulty on the same character dozens of times (usually in a row) is peak fun design and definitely not just there to prolong the lifecycle of content.
After such a grind the reward feels more like payment.

Overreacting is a human trait it seems. Really or u are 480+ ilvl so u or u just are just being riducolous. The looting system is not rlly motivating no. But u say i didnt got some ilvl increase item in weeks.

Its your problem that u dont want or can spend more time in m+ tbh. So u suggest a system to block everyone else gearing process that looks like egoisme all the way.

If any of this was implimented, Some form of weekly lockout or limitation on M+ must be put in place, otherwise the gear progression in the game will go completely off the rails. Its bad enough already that people can spam their way through M+ all day every day and get a full set of high level gear within the first week of the season.

The most people that complain about the game are u guys lol hahaha always complaining about personal loot vs group loot, m+ rewards, hahaha u guys.

I opened my vault and got 3/3 belts for mythic+ options. The week later 2 belts as options. You can maybe guess what I did after this, keep in mind this was the first two vaults too.

While the rest of my group was all happy down my ear about getting their trinkets and weapons and tier.

Your preaching to the vicar (Choir) there.
I am still farming that dungeon as I have not got the trinket yet, and im way above 20, was my point.

20 in comparison to some is nothing. Same was for waycrest trinket for some, or HoI trinket for others, or NOK trinket.

To be honest? Based on personal experience: Something along the lines of 60 runs (no stacking) would be “reasonable”.

It is based on: People I know (any myself included) have farmed specific dungeons (with out stacking) around 30 times. And I had the patience to do more if needed so… that’s how I get to the number.

For me its: Now many times would I be willing to farm a dungeon before I get really sick of it.

Although, truth be told “me and my friends” are far from a representative number. Anectodal at best. But my opinion is based on my perception.

However, its been a while since I have farmed dungeons with my warrior. Reason being that the purpose of playing with my warrior (Zavia-Uldum if you wanna check her out) is to play with my buddies keys <20 to have a chill night. So I don’t need a 2-hander for that content, but my E-Peen would like to top the DPS charts for once…

But satisfying my E-Peen is not a justification for making gearing easier. Or even to repeat a dungeon 60 times. I just chill with my warrior and if I get a 2-hander I will check your webpage and compare the statistics.

Because full disclosure: Ive done a grand total of 16 runs with her… Im lucky to even have 1 Hero 2-hander… And 475 ilvl by playing only 16 runs… its pretty good IMO… EZ gear if you ask me.

So people have absolutely no reason to complain.

First observation: Arms warrior loot spec has way less total items than shadow priest, like WAY less.

Highest odds 2hander was gorehowl, which is 6.66% assuming no traders. Which means after 60 runs you’d have a 98.3% chance of having acquired at least 1. After 30 runs that’s an 87% chance. After 12 runs a 57% chance. Again, warriors have it real easy.

It’s been too long since I did Statistics in school so I can’t remember how exactly having traders affects the initial percentages.

the token system should be for vault loot imo.

instead of the actual piece you can take 1 token.

1 piece of direct vault loot costs 2 tokens. so you basically delay your gearing by 2x if you choose to buy with tokens.

that could even be made to 3x if needed.

Yeah? Ive done Rise a total of 4 times. And I have 2 Gorehowls. One Hero, one Champion. And I can only equip one. That is more than just “luck”.

But the thing that you dont understand is that for the content I am doing (<20) ANY 2-hander would have worked just fine to replace the 447 I had before.

So you have to add up the chances of getting any of the other 3 2-handed weapons that drop in the other dungeons.

And you will see, that the odds are a bit higher.

That is just “play the game and loot will rain from the sky”. And 1 particular item does not drop its fine. Some other item will and by virtue of ilvl its enough.

It just proves my point that farming is unnecessary. Its an “ilusion”. Just play the game, and thats it. Dont farm. Just enjoy M+. And if you dont enjoy M+, dont do it.

SO? You seem very fine. Fine enough to time 25s this season. You did 70 M+ runs in total. Of which only 30 were 20+ or higher. Which for you its like doing heroic dungeons… and cleared the raid 6 times (not counting Mythic which few people do to begin with).

So IMO your very, very fine. And when your progress in Mythic raid ends and you begin pushing M+ again like you did in S1 and S2… you will be even better equipped than me. Because I wont even be able to access OP raid gear you can.

So you will have an advantage there. Just because you play Raids and I dont. And I cant complain. If I want that sweet Raid trinket you have, I need to raid. I cant have it given to me for free.

Same concept for M+…

No that is absolutely just luck. Looting 2 gorehowls yourself (Not traded) in 4 total runs of rise is 2.3%. Low certainly, but not even close to tending towards impossibility.

No I do understand that, I calculated how many of specifically that dungeon you would need to run to get specifically that 2hander. There are 3 2handers in the current dungeon pool, 2 of them are 1/10 items and 1 is 1/6. If you were to do any dungeons except rise your odds of getting a 2hander from a given run would quite obviously go down.

It wasn’t a comment about my own gear, I know what I did to get it and I know where I’ll end up. It was more surprise at how wide the gap in loot table numbers is for some specs meaning some specs have significantly lower odds of getting what they need from dungeons than others.

When a 483 iridal is better than every option at 489 besides the one from Mythic Fyrakk there’s reason to farm it. Not to mention how awful some of the dps trinkets are from dungeons this season so “Any of them will do” isn’t really an option.

I know your right. But let me feel special for once. Just lie to me and tell me im special…

I get your point. But what does “better” mean? A 5% DPS increase? A 10%? 20% total DPS increase?

So im certain that that number is in the low side. 5% better than any other trinket out there would already be a lot IMO.

So. For most people (including OP here) doing Heroic Raiding average. At best first 3 bosses of Mythic… and keys <23 at best… Do you really think that 5% would make any difference?

It does to you… that your attempting Smolderon Mythic (correct me if im wrong here). But truth be told, the level of commitment you give to that guild is more than is required to farm that trinket. And it looks like a fair price to pay for the content you are doing.

But for 99% of people, ANY trinket 483 is fine. Just from the primary stat it gives.

As for me, I get BiS everything from M+. Thats literally the only thing I do. So just from volume I get all I ever need from M+. Its the perks of doing only 1 form of content.

I’m not really raiding prog this tier so far. Expectation is that I’ll be in for Fyrakk maybe but the guild is currently on Tindral. None of my gear has come from Mythic Raiding I’ve just been in for farm to get my vaults (Which have also been of no use so far). Evyerthing I have is from heroic raid clears, Mythic+ dungeons, or my Mythic+ vault slot.

I can answer this actually because in week 1 of this tier I got both a 483 corrupted starlight and a 483 oakheart’s gnarled root and neither of them were better than my (Admittedly) 457 Nelth’s call to suffering. They couldn’t overcome a deficit of 26 ilvls.

I got lucky with the Fyrakk trinket. Im kind of confused with it because it heals for a ton. But for some reason raw stat sticks are preferd for RShaman. I have to look into it.

What I will say is that I am VERY happy that this season the raid trinkets and weapons are not OP bonkers like they were in S2. Im happy I can raid if I can/want. Not because I need.

And will you push keys later on in the season? I looked at your Raider IO. And im curious, cause you have like 1 dungeon in +10, and a Rise 25. Pretty random stuff there

Also you have done Nimuhe Mythic 3 times. I hope you get the sweet staff from there. Heard its really good. I totally abandoned any chances of ever having it myself.

It’s not, it’s slightly better than a 489 staff with no effect but the effect itself isn’t amazing. I’d still use it but I’m basically holding out for a 489 Iridal from vault.

Maybe, Shadow is definitely a lot less trash than it was a couple weeks ago. Kinda seeing how long I can go without doing a Throne of the Tides xD.

What can I say… S2 trinkets were absolutely bonkers.

Even a gutted version of Rashoks trinket is better than many M+ trinkets, and some Raid ones too. If they would have left Rashok as it is, a 447 heroic version would be better, and not even close, than anything including whatever Fyrak in Mythic drops.

I wonder what will happen in S4 with fated. If they will reverse the Rashok nerfs.

I am very curious about this statement. There is not a lot of info online. Turns out I have a Iridal sitting in my bags. Why is it so good? Is that effect worth it?

For M+ I mean. And for raiding? Is it worth it?

I haven’t seen any data out there other than Icy-Veins recommending it even for RShamans… And to be honest, the effect is the damage 1 lava burst does. And I can literally spam those. So why is it so good?

Whats wrong with that place? Its not so bad. A bit of a tight timer, and the pulls hit like trucks but overall its OK.

Im sure you can pilot a nerfed out version of a SP and still get more IO than most. So… I dont see that as a reason not to. Dont tell me il have to stalk you in your server to get your bum back into M+…

It scales off vers and can crit, I just checked on my most recent volcoross it did 440k damage in a single hit. If you can get more uses across a fight by hitting adds or just having a longer execute phase it ends up doing a decent chunk of damage.

Obviously a 489 ilvl one would do significantly more as well.

It has a cast time but it’s off gcd so you can send it in the gap after you cast an instant, meaning it doesn’t cost any globals to use.
