Loot Leavers

wdym selfish, no one is obligated to stay, they can leave whenever they want lmao.

you can stay there and wait for someone else to join the group or just get premade party.

Ofc its selfish, you are signing up to a dungeon, not to a boss.

People are so self entitled now they don’t even think let alone care how their actions impact others.

wrong, you leaving doesnt harm anyone, if you want to stop participating in ‘x’ you can.

You are right about that but really any social contacts in normal and heroic dungeons are pretty much only 1/10 dungeon runs you get that. Rest are just get to the finish line as fast as possible.

You have MONTHS to get the item or a different item. Why torture yourself for the ‘perfect’ item.

It wastes their time / inconveniences people. Theres a social contract that we’re signing up to a shared objective as a team. That objective is to complete the dungeon.

It’s not about “harm”, its about not being a douche. Judging from how you used to be around here, thats still a foreign concept to you.

because m0 will be a huge wall for a lot of people . me included .

thats why this gear is super important

It’s pre-season, why are you grinding heroic dungeon gear?
What about you stop running dungeons like a maniac for ilvl 571/594 gear that you’re going to replace within the first week of the season? I get getting gear to start the season, but grinding out your bis now is pointless. Wait for m+, then you can do the same exact thing, but you can’t get any loot till the end of the dungeon.

and when you’re farming an item and you spend 15 minutes instead of 5 minutes on each run, it wastes your own time.

prioritizing yourself isnt selfish, its a normal way to behave - and that’s why most people leave/skip bosses/etc - and its a reoccurring issue between expansions.

realistically only way to fix it is for game company to make it worth for everyone to finish this dungeon.

Remove all loot entirely and make everything just drop currency that we spend at a vendor.

I think most dungeons take around 10 to 15mins. I don’t remember when was the last time I got to use Heroism two times in the same instance (Normal and Heroic, not M+)

As explained hundreds of times, any noticeable punishment for leaving would just lead players to the more toxic option of sitting afk so that they get kicked. And if we reach that point, then there is the other issue where no automated system can ever distinguish between getting kicked due to being “toxic” (I afk to force others to kick me) and getting kicked due to others being “toxic” (this player is not parsing orange, they do not deserve rewards so we kick them).

And the exact opposite would cause degenerate behaviour; if, instead of punishing leavers and unfair kicks, the developers decided to simply give an additional reward or boost to the victims, then players would collaborate to leave and kick friends/premades to get the bonus.

That empowerment or AI would have to be bad enough so that no group would ever consider kicking the weakest link on purpose to have an easier run. People who perform autoshoot level of performance also deserve to play, especially in random matchmade content.

Now THIS is a good idea, and I’ll expand on it: Each boss will have its regular loot, and after defeating the final boss each player will also get a 2nd random item from the dungeon. So you get a 2nd chance at the end.

Now it would be a balancing issue of ensuring that staying for that 2nd chance is better than leaving right after the first boss to requeue for the same dungeon.

(of a person, action, or motive lacking consideration for other people; concerned chiefly with one’s own personal profit or pleasure.

“I joined them for selfish reasons”

But you have months to complete M0
Monts to push keys
months to raid
there is plenty of time
that 1% stat increase isnt going to make or break your mythic runs

Going to gently suggest that it doesn’t matter this week. Worrying about best in slot from heroic dungeons seems kind of overkill.

Admittedly it can be annoying when you have like a Dragonflight belt and no other belt has ever dropped :dracthyr_sweat: But at this point in the expansion I’d just grab an explorer green off the AH and say it’ll do :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

But not before the first raid ID. The normal/HC raid opens on the same day as M0. I’ll raid with a new group (where my friends had been raiding), and I’ll not show up there in quest gear on my first raid night.

You’re right, nothing matters in the long run and we will all do the content we want to do in time, but when I play with others, I want to prepare my character in the best way I reasonably can. Farming heroic dungeons that are much easier than heroics in some other expansions doesn’t require much effort, so why not do it?

Hmm, similar to killing Gluth after clearing the other 3 wings…everyone wanted to kill him if they didn´t get their item from the other bosses, because he had no loot table of his own…

I like the idea… But I´m also already trying to think of how it might be exploited by bad actors…

As a side bonus, it would speed up gearing overall, and the selfish “i only want my item and everyone else can bite me” players would get taken out of the queue faster (by themselvens not needing any more gear, not by force), making for a more enjoyable experience for the rest of the community… and it would make it faster for new /returning players to catch up to be able to participate in higher level content…

But I can´t shake the feeling that there is absolutely a hidden downfall I´m not considering…

Preach.

Queue for ages to get into LFR on your dps class. Join at the last boss.

:dracthyr_cry_animated:

Ngl though, LFR wings should be treated like M+ where all loot is in a chest at the end.

Deserter debuff only promote the hostage or if applied to people getting kicked recieving debuff to battle that behavior is not better.

Think that maybe give the m+ treatment to dungeons and LFR that loot only is received after last boss and skip deserter debuff completely probably is a much better solution to get people that want loot from that dungeon to stay and don’t punish people that sincerly want/need to leave from real life issues other than not receiving loot.

Like others have said; just reward a personal loot box at the completion of an instance, instead of these convoluted measures with debuffs etc. :face_with_spiral_eyes:
