Indeed, why would you go for swords as a non human warrior? There are probably 10+ people in your guild waiting in line for the swords, while barely anyone would want the axes.
Being a non human is pretty much a advantage over humans unless when in complete BIS gear, cause the queue to get weapons is much shorter.
And guilds dont use Loot Council for the fun of it, the only reason every guild uses Loot Council is so that they can give gear where it would do the most.
This situation is a prime example of why guilds chose to go with a Loot Council system. You got 10+ people that gain extra damage from using swords, and then you got this non human warrior who get no advantage in taking swords, and would be better off taking the axes noone else wants come and complain that he doesnt get the weapon everyone else want.

I’ll say the same that has been implied before:
Because of weapon availability and usability, it’s great that early on you prioritise weapons as widely as possible.
You want some dagger rogues to lessen stress on swords, and you want as many axe warriors for same reason.
For min-maxing speedrun guilds, dagger rogues triumph over swords because of short fights. All the more reason to go dagger.
With Edgemasters, it’s more of a privilege to wear axes and honestly be better off for it. In most cases you should have very little competition over Crul’ and even Doom’s Edge (or Core Hound Tooth or Deathbringer) whatever you wanna dual, and do more damage with them than with any swords.
Swords being way more sought after and not as available, you’re both doing both your guild and yourself a favour going axes.
When your guilds melees are well decked, you get more options and AQ messes up the deck again bringing dagger-warriors to the table.
Human Warriors best options are Kazzak-mace and swords with realllly low drop chance, and they gotta compete with each other AND sword rogues.
Thus, enjoy your easy weapons, top spot in damage meters for a BOEs price. Our realm it’s going for 4k gold atm.
Well, i look at it this way.
If the guild proves to be minmaxing, sure.
But the loot councils that allows ret paladins and boomkins to take raid spots, cant say edgemaster warriors cant roll on sword for ”good loot distribution”.
i dunno what to say, but i’ve seen worst cases than this! as many LC guilds are corrupted and give prio to their friends even when they suck.
just remember that if you left guild? you might not join a better or fair new1!
Also Remember that Loot is all about RNG & luck. u can get all your bis items easy if they keep on dropping or u might never get any of them even if guild prio it all to you.
Imagine struggling on a raid that was made 15 years ago. Even with pre-raid bis gear-only with world buff and consumables, we can kill everything from MC to Naxx. People like you said the same thing for MC, for BWL, and now for AQ lmao. Enjoy your desillusion when AQ40 will be clear in pug week #2 ^^.
Absolutely makes sense. Humans have to use swords for max dps because of racial. However as nonhuman it doesnt matter and its much easier to get an axe.
To summarize - swords are prio for humans, axes for nonhumans.
A co-ordinated pug full of people who know what they need and what is best for their character > a dkp guild.
I’m serious.
And no, I said MC would be down really quickly. My guess was the second week, but I didn’t know raid groups in levelling dungeons would still get full exp. And I said the first BWL would probably take an hour. Due to the amount of running required in AQ, I’d guess that the first clear will take around an hour and a half upon the gates being opened; most servers could probably have the gates open on the first day, but some will be holding off so that more people can get their black battletank.
I’d say, swords are 305+ sword skill prio. Someone with Edgemasters can have similar prio to humans.
However, you can also use axes with the same efficiency, something that humans can’t. Are axes your prio? Should be either-or, doesn’t make sense to give you both weapon types.
I suggest you to ask your guild and not randoms on forums. Maybe you’re lootbanned for taking aggro on Vael; could be a million guild-specific “maybes”.
The thing is, there is so many who want swords, compared to the axes in most guilds, so giving a non human with edgemasters a sword would be a big waste of gear compared to giving the non human prio on the axes.
Doesnt matter if edgemasters give swordskill, when the axes are equally good as swords to the nonhuman, while for a human, swords are much better than axes.
Its called putting your gear where it can have the most value, and that is the only point of running a loot council system to begin with.
That is not correct. Guilds are meant to work together or did you give Thunderfury away for DKP?
Never join loot council guilds.
You keep repeating that… sounds like someone that arent skilled or dedicated enough, so you were denied prio on what you wanted, then try to blame the system instead.

any race can do just as good on any class. even weapon choice like dagger warrior
Why can’t the OP not ask this his guild leaders / Loot council members directly?
Just ask why they do it like this, ask for an explanation and decide for yourself if what they are doing makes sense for you or not. If you don’t like what they are doing, then maybe leave the guild.
I am sure OP understands what the human racial does. So swords are automatically better on humans than on other races. Still there are other factors that are playing a role.
In the guild that i joined it was pretty transparent, everyone knew what items one could get and what items go to someone else first. The loot council even helped players to find a good specc and how to gear for it.

- Expensive mind gives about 0.65% crit chance in a fully buffed Naxx BiS. You won’t even collect large enough sample over all the Naxx lockouts in Classic to see a meaningful statistical difference between a gnome and human mage for example.
- You play human for 10% rep bonus, to not get dismounted in puddles and not get LoS’d on pebbles. And to run up stairs without getting stuck.
- To not play a horrifying ugly baby monster midget in a role playing game.
Somehow I feel my DKP guild will have no trouble in AQ, seeing as we clear a comforable 41 min BWL.
I think corrupt LC guilds that gear the inner core regardless of performance will have just as much trouble as no-holds-barred DKP guilds that give BiS stuff to meme specs for attendence points.
The capable guilds will have no trouble, regardless if they have transparent LC or sensible decaying DKP with class and spec priorities on most loot like mine does.
Edit: oh, and on topic, of course human rogues and furies get prio on swords, you get edgies on a meme race warrior for the express purpose of getting prio on axes and possibly daggers (together with meme race rogues)
Good paragraph. Nothing is wrong with LC and nothing is wrong with DKP. You can implement both nicely and you can implement both poorly.
the difference with my current gear if i was a non orc between Deathbringer + Crul and CTS + Maladath is 7 dps.
both were simulated with edgemasters and fully worldbuffed. so i am guessing as a nonhuman the difference would be around the same with full buffs. though maybe on alliance because of blessings the raw stats of cts might be a bit better and give like 10 dps difference.
do you really want to get in line on place 5 for 2 swords when you can be first in line for 2 axes and deal basically the same damage? i mean really?
Never join loot council guilds.
The only reason I complained about it because in my guild the ratio between Human and non isn’t equal. We have 2 Human warrior 2 Human combat rogues so 4 in total after swords against 4 Dwarf warrior 3 Gnome and 2 Night Elf so saying less competition on axes. There are rotation with members because we have more than 40 people each week signing to raids. So this is why the issue started in the first place some of Non human warriors thought we were being shafted in a way cause we’ve had hardly any axes drop compared to swords.
i can understand. maybe you should have an honest talk to your raidleader / loot council and address your concerns. we are all adults and i think this would be the best way for you to take right now. ask them for example if you get prio on axes because you have edge masters. and enjoy being top dps
