Loot: PvP vs PvE, unfair stats etc

The thing about pvp gear at the moment isnt the fact that you get loads of gear, but the fact you can target certain pieces very easily, for example if you look at the race to world first race you can see a huuuge chunk of the raiders had alot of there slots filled with 226 armor pieces and the rogues and 1 hander classes having targetable 233 weapons first week which is pretty insane cos they can get that ilvl all be it being hard within the first week. Having 233 ilvl weapons on week 1 is pretty huge dps increase and is doable, cos you can target you slots unlike m+ spam, furthermore you get multiple choices such as the conq quest cap for the week perhaps letting you buy a small targetable piece and a pvp piece from your weekly great vault.

So ebg is some emo battleground or something?

u join a group sit and watch other kill players and u get honor to use to buy the gear :stuck_out_tongue:
all u do as monk healer is chaneling mist anyway …

Not so nice when the tables turn huh.
PvPers in BfA had to run mythics for gear to be competitive.

Our base set is only 184 ilvl. And it takes a fair bit of grinding just to get that.
We’re conquest capped so everyone only has a few pieces of conquest gear at this point, and you can only upgrade it if you have the rating for it. Even with Rival my priest is still only 202. We’ll get to upgrade our gear a little more after reset but I think PvErs will still be ahead.

The only PvE content I’m doing this time round is raid.

I do think the loot tables for PvE are a bit harsh at the moment. Especially m+, there’s a reason I haven’t bothered with it in this season. There should be a vendor for PvE too.

I get what Blizzard are trying to do, you have to play all content to be at your most optimal. But I don’t think that’s what the player-base want. I’d be quite happy if my PvP gear was garbage in PvE and vice versa.

i stopped posting some time ago but i will drop by and tell you this story:

looong ago a guildie of mine was after the nightslayer chest. after 49 straight kills (thats one kill every week for over a year btw) it finally dropped!

BUT

that week he wasnt able to make it to the raid…

so… this was then and this is now. same same but different, right?

take a break from this game my friend it will make you mad

Have you even looked at the PvP instance screen? :joy: You seem to be making comments about something you don’t even know anything about.

Conquest cap is 550 which means that you can get about 0.8 price of gear per week considering the average price of pvp piece.
Mythic+ has 0.4 gear drop rate per single successful run and 0.2 drop rate per single unsuccessful run (imagine being rewarded for failing).
Amount of mythic+ runs is unlimited, which means you can get full 204-210 gear through the single week of repetitive high mythic+ keys.
In pvp player is bound to trash 184 honor gear via renown level time gating.
As a compensation pvp player receives the ability to choose stats, but guess what there is not always the versa-best stat gear combo available at vendor.

Now tell me which is more fair.

I guess the one where you can spend 30 hours doing content that can reward you with upgrades, and not get a single upgrade? Certainly not the one where you can pick your reward after playing 3~4 hours.

This calculation presumes you’ll get a piece that is an upgrade. That’s not always the case. The loot table usually consists of 3-4 items that are usable, but does not mean that they are an upgrade over what you already have.

So realistically, the chance for you to get an item and then to actually get the one you wanted is much lower than 0.4 per run…

u can just buy 226 gear from AH and get instently ilvl 226 …

But then you can stack the group or raid with players with a certain gear-type (and with a certain ilvl on a certain item) to increase the chance that it will drop + be tradable.

And that greatly increases the chance again.

Sounds like stacking does what stacking does.
Should we all form groups like that? Some classes don’t have a tank and heal spec to fully stack.
What happens when multiple players want the same item?
You’re almost back where you started.

I’ve had the Quantum trinket drop 3 times for me, i want the other one, not this piece of high simming crap.

You mean interface? Yes i did and there is nothing what would fit rl to ebg term.

Made a screenshot for dummies like you: https://i.imgur.com/x6YjT0O.png

Since the R stands for Random in his books, it clearly is REBG

Then the deduction of ebg should’ve been quite obvious as well

Nobady uses ebg to describe epic battlegrounds. People say 40 man, AV or IOtC but definitly not ebg.

Well with infinite amount of runs you are only limited with your dedication.
On practice even casually doing 4-5 mythic keys per week I managed to receive about 2 pve pieces with good stats (crit+haste and trinkets) weekly including gear swaps with plate teammates.
In pvp I have purchased 3 or 4 pieces in five weeks.

Uhm, everybody in the chat and I know uses EBG for Epic, BG for random and RBG for rated ones.

But sure, make it illogical on purpose.
