i want to suggest that Shadowfrost Shards are only obtainable for classes, that can actually use those.
As we only had one raidnight due to the release on thursday night we rushed trough ICC to be able to clear it within our raid schedule.
As always the lootmaster (shaman) autolooted all the stuff to distribute it later, when there was more time. By the time we had already killed Saurfang, we noticed he couldn’t trade the Shadowfrost Shards.
It made sense back then, that you couldn’t trade those as they were a quest item. But it doesn’t make sense that a SHAMAN can loot them and they are stuck on him afterwards. And it was kinda aggravating that the GMs just copy & pasted : No, it’s legendary you can’t trade it. Bad luck.
It got even worse when we turned off autoloot and just left the option on, that green and blue items automatically go to our mage to be disenchanted. For whatever reason the Addon (RCLootcouncil) counted those legendary shards as lower than epic. To be fair this malfunction is not Blizzard’s fault. But again a Shadowfrost Shard stuck on a MAGE.
Our fury warrior was FURIOUS.
Anyway; i’d love a solution for that. We NEVER had those problems with the Valanyr quest items, so there was no chance of us knowing this prior. And it would be lovely if there was a way to retrieve those 5 shards and at least give it to a player that can use them.
I heard multiple stories about this happening and it would easily have been preventable. Blizzard just has to change the item to be only obtainable by Warriors, Paladins and DKs.
And maybe have a popup-window asking you if you really want to give XY the shard. I mean I have to type “DELETE” everytime i want to get rid of some lowlevel epic stuff…
So I really hope this gets heard and looked into by the development team. I’d really appreciate that <3
