Lore and night elf palladin

The Priesthood of Elune is a bit of a strange one, but while they do use the Arcane in a fashion, it’s not the same as what a mage would use. Moonlight is astral magic, which is actually the mixture of Life and Arcane magics. Balance druids seem to use the closest toolkit to the night elven clergy.

However in practice the night elven priests use spells that effectively take shape as Holy magic. If Blizzard were to create night elf paladins, all they would need to do to make it viable is reflavour some of the ability texts and change the gold spells to silver, and it would be perfectly viable.

Paladin in WoW essentially just refers to an armoured, martial priest. There would be no ‘cultural abandonment’ for a priest of Elune to don full-plate and a heavy weapon. Let’s also remember that the hammer isn’t the signature weapon of all paladins – they can use swords, polearms, and axes. The main Blood Knight weapon is the ranseur, a spear.

The Scarlet Crusade peeks its head around the corner. I think even the High Arakkoa in WoD use the Light.

Because Liadrinn spoke of a Renewed faith in the light. and she’s the mouth piece of Blood knights in the lore. i took that. but you are correct they mainly channel it from the sun well.

The Scarlet crusade are convinced of their own truth, they are compassionate of those who see their truth. they cannot see the humanity still with in the forsaken, and belief the lie that all life has now been tainted. is it a sane belief? no. but in their minds they are the last bastions of the Church fighting a corrupted world.

and i am pretty sure the arakkoa used Solar magic, focused through Apexis lenses.

They don’t even believe all life has been tainted, they’re just human supremacists violently and fanatically dedicated to the purging of the undead and the heathen and the restoration of the Kingdom of Lordaeron. Some even go so far as to believe the entire world must be cleansed of non-humans.

The Arakkoa worshipped Rukhmar and the sun and through this worship wielded the Light not dissimilar to how the tauren do so through their worship of An’she.

There is still a distinction to be made between ‘paladin’ which more or less refers to warrior priests and ‘Paladin’ which refers to a knight of the Silver Hand, who are quite different from a priest merely donning armour.

i clearly misinterpreted the last bit as thinking everyone was tainted in their eyes. my bad.

Ah i did not find that bit on Ruhkmar. but if Ruhkmar is a sun god like An’she and Rezan are, yeah it makes sense for them to also harness the Light through that.

Definetly, but how big a chance do you think there is of Blizzard doing that? We’re still waiting for non-DH Sentinel glaives :sob:

Yes and that lore has been “expanded” on (insofar as it actually did) and the Three Virtues are something that’s only referred to ingame and in-lore in regards to (Alliance) Knights of the Silver Hand and priests from Stormwind and Ironforge.

Except it is a human concept. Yes the Vindicator’s could converse directly with the Naaru, but they still do not have their own version of the Three Virtues. If anything they only have a single Virtue and that is compassion, since the draenei appear to forgive everything and everyone for any wrong done against them.

More and more people are asking for “class” skins, so your Sunwalker can use more fiery spells, your night elf priests silver and I even saw somegnome ask for a Necromancer class skin for warlocks (changing demons into undead, I’m a fan of that one!).

Not even that, they had regular purges, torture and things was the norm for “discipline” and more creepy things like that.

Night Elves in Plate Armour that mete out justice in reverence for their chosen deity.
Possess knowledge of wielding the magic of said deity since their order was formed from Priests.

Y’all this is just Wardens. Delas Moonfang is a lazier version of the concept.
Don’t do to the idea what Blizz already did to Sunwalkers by just making them lazy Human reskins.

not every race needs paladins, theres already too many

Not every race needs mages either, yet, here the numbers come.

waits for Worgen Paladin

Yeah, blizz just gone overkill with the class/races imo

Honestly, I used to think that too.

But now I’m like, if Blizzard refuses to restrict race and class combinations (or make them unavailable again), they should just go every race every class and add things like class skins.

i agree, they should remove all classes and all races

All classes for all races
More races or allied races
More classes

If Blizzard won’t focus on quality, then I want quantity.

All classes for all races, but at least give us some kind of explanation behind it.

“Your character, as an independent adventurer, chose to defy the <race> traditions and found themselves a <class> teacher.”

Doesn’t need more explanation than that.

This but unironically. Race fantasy is a ship that has long sailed, so they might as well give everyone everything.

Adventurers have always been depicted as the exceptions to society’s rules, in just about every fantasy setting – Warcraft included.

Delete vulpera, make most the allied races just options in the barber shop n take paladin n druid/shaman away from about…3-4 races, problem solved, back to normality, not all that “every race every class” nonsense

Draenei warlocks get some very passive-aggressive notes in the mail from well meaning, concerned neighbours.
