But the slice doesn’t have to show off the Highborne way of life - it’s just that Night Elves have Night Elf Mage students/Highborne Magi in their ranks.
But this is just one smaller slice of the Night Elf race. I personally don’t believe that Shen’dralar lore is going to be expanded upon, beyond a few NPCs here and there. Like the two who Sylvanas killed during the WoT and were about to be raised in 8.1.
Do you mean he is killed?
I hope not, brilliant addition to the world.
That’s not quite the slam dunk you think…
“You like pretty girl!!”
“…so?”
It probably means he’s in retirement now, but realistically he should be dead already.
Night Elves, Tauren, neutral organizations like the Cenarion Circle (and not just D.E.H.T.A.), and independent druids, hunters and bounty hunters would be after his head because of the way he treated animals and hunted them down, skinned them and taking trophies just for fun, and more… and even in retirement, he would just be a dead man walking, constantly forced to run away and into hiding because of his previous actions, so he wouldn’t be able to enjoy his retirement anyway realistically
I enjoy his character in game, greatly. It’s an excellent play on the classical British explore archetype, and its one of the few that blizz has done so exceptionally well on a consistent basis. I really hope he’s not retired for good, or at least his son will continue.

Why do you like snakes so much anyway…just because they have bigger numbers than the Vulpera in the lore?
At least the Horde got a lot more players because of the Vulpera…not a lot of people would like to play a slim snake (except if it was a Naga, maybe, but making Naga a playable race is almost impossible even just for the fact of them having no legs of course…)
If those people were traditional Lizardmen like the one from Soulcalibur i would play that race xD
But i guess his answer is “They look evil, they would love to kill a lot, they would join Sylvie simp church”

They’ve got lipservice to them, but they’re in no way representative of the Highborne lifestyle or thematic.
What I’m saying is that the Darnassians are only one piece of the rather large pie, especially from the perspective of all the ways Kaldorei of old have splintered since then. Them taking a different aspect than all the other remnants of the ancient empire is what makes them unique and that’s a good thing, in my book overall regardless of the role or lack thereof the few magi they accepted may play.
highfive … f the horde elf > horde
Never been big on Sethrak honestly. They feel a bit blank and awkward. I’d rather have had the Unshackled or Hozen (as they were present in several spots of Zandalar).
I want Sethrak. They were our main allies in Vol’dun. It is only natural prorgession that they become playable.
I’d say our main allies in Vol’dun are the Scorched Sands Trolls actually. I doubt the Sethrak would fight for us.
The Horde player brought Sethraliss back.
The Horde player killed Mythrax, Korthek and Jakrazet.
I say Vorrik owes us a big favor. Joining the faction would do that good.

Tbh i doubt we’re gonna see them, until Blizzard remembers the Taunka exist… (aka not gonna happen)
For myself i’ve always found their models to look wonky, at best. Probably the head, in ralation to body size and posture or something. I do like the idea of snake people like D&D’s Yuan-ti, but the Naga are much closer to that nishe by a colossal margin.
There are plenty of material for possible allied races. Blizzard just needs to use them.
The system has notable limitations and the Dracthyr already occupy the obvious nishe of Dragonflight. Outside some elemental flavors or titanforged variants i don’t think there is much room for it thematically.
That said i would find it amusing, if we’ve seen Earth, Water, Fire and Wind elves, because the forums would be deliciously salty xD
Here’s a first look on the Dracthyr starter questline :

Also, an interesting dialogue between Nozdormu and Neltharion about the genesis of the Dracthyr that’s been datamined :

That has to be out of context, because it makes Nozdormu sound stupendously evil. Nothing to set the mood like total mind-control and temporal imprisonment, because they dared to free themselves… Jesus Christ, at this rate they should be BFFs with the Dragonmaw and DK player character.
Murozond might well be coming, so this might just be Blizzard’s trademark “subtlety” with their villains.
