It has been a source of debate over the years about whether we are too-powerful and glorified as characters Vs having more a more relaxed and sedate approach to things. With the introduction, and further promise, of more Lorewalking scenarios added into the game to help people remember the relevance of certain stories across WoW history…if you could, what would you choose to have in your character’s Lorewalking recollection?
Would you keep it humble and refer to your grass-root days of killing numerous innocent boars, picking flowers, and running errands around Durotar / Mulgore / whatever starting zone of your choosing? Or would you be self-indulgent and showcase that you have been a time-travelling, dimension-shifting Demigod who has defied Death, brought down alien invasions, Old Gods, tyrants, dragons, etc.?
I don’t mean this as an RP-sort of thread, more just curious how you view your character that have you invested so many hours into over your WoW careers!
I was curious how people would want their character to be reflected upon if the Lorewalking feature applied to their character’s arc through WoW history.
Fair enough - doesn’t answer the question I asked but I appreciate your input…I do think Lorewalking has a place for an optional recap for those who want it, but I do agree that it can be a bit drawn-out and tedious (especially for players who have not been away from the game for long periods of time).
You mean like a biography of your character or what ?
Any good book worth it’s salt has a plot twist , and most biographies start with humble beginnings and than go to the grand splash .
Alternatively you can do grand peak and show case the humble end .
But as a wow character it would obviously be the first as the “hero” is no where near retiring.
…Puny, are you okay today? I’ve never seen you responding like this on the forums. I’m sorry you didn’t understand what I was asking but there’s no need for the thread to go in this direction.
My characters are just normal citizens of Azeroth - I ignore whenever they get spoken to as champion etc. and quests that only the hero of azeroth would do are a mere gameplay machanic to me. So I don’t need any lorewaker quest lines about “me”.
Speaking as a roleplayer, we usually frown upon characters being portrayed in roleplay as all-powerful or all-knowing. It’s highly recommended to play a more mundane character, and detach the PvE experience from the roleplay experience.
It would probably be a accurate reflection of how it is in game.
I do all the heavy lifting and the important lore characters swoop in at the last second, do one flashy power move and steal all the credit.
So I’d imagine my lorewalking re-telling would be a dramatic tale of how Thrall or Jaina saved the world from ruin once again with a very brief mention of a short, blue robot guy that carried their bags or something.
