Play the game how you want it to and if you don’t want to play, don’t.
I get the impression that alot of people like the idea of classic wow, but dont like classic wow itself for some reason.
So what do you like?
Im gonna enjoy spending time doing dungeons, farming mats and hook up with friends…
And ofc the huge amount of payback on those poor low lvl hordes…i feel sorry for them allready…
If you cant see light in the end of the tunnel (1-60) the logg off. Either for a few days/weeks…or for good.
I have been finding that the levels 30-40 are the worst for some reason. What has helped is taking a chance to farm materials and leveling professions. I read somewhere someone saying they try to get all their professions to 300, or close to, by level 40 and I have been trying this and it’s working so far. On this warrior I’ve been leveling my Blacksmithing alongside leveling, making sure I can always make armor for my warrior’s level, and not only does it take my mind off the slog of leveling, it gives me more targets (e.g. next level I can wear this piece of armor I just made) and there is something very satisfying about pimping yourself out for free! (well not free obviously, as money = time, but you know what I mean!).
I think the problem is 1-40 is an amazing journey, it has some of the best if not the best questing areas. It has dungeons that are not as annoying/long, it has many quests and each area flows into the next nicely level wise. Which all ends in the accumulation of your first mount and the last talent point, big milestones and feels great.
Where as 40-60 is a slog, couple of quests dotted arround in each area of each zone then a few levels later back to all those zones. So much traveling, and ofcourse it just takes so long.
I see alot of threads on the classic subreddit where people have many 40s, it just feels that’s the major burnout point. I have a 60 that I had to push myself every level after about 45 to get, and then to mid 30s that I have gave up on because I know 40-60 is coming up and I just cant do it again.
Also hybrids fall off, while pure dps get stronger. It felt really bad questing as a hybrid later on so much drinking/eating and so little damage.
Yeah. Life on 60 is fairly stale and one-dimensional. Enjoy the journey while it lasts, you don’t need “goal”.
Weird how you retail players think the game is so boring yet spend all your life on the CLASSIC forums.
Wrong character. I have a 45 and a 35 on Classic WoW. I haven’t logged into Retail in 3 months. Just accept the fact that some people have different opinions to Classic than yourself.
Classic fanboys are the worst - all super salty the minute someone says something negative about it. Yikes.
Because I played Classic when it was released and pay a subscription fee therefore entitles me to post wherever I want.
Phase 2 is on the doorstep now. And with this rushing mentality it looks like developers will release Phase 3 sooner than many were expecting. I am not into raiding, been there done that. Raids and dungeons are too predictable and getting old too fast, PvP on the other hand dynamic and unpredictable.
So I suggest you to make alts, if you are into twinks, make them ready, if not do some low level zone world PvP with alts. What made me hook into Classic was world PvP and Battlegrounds, the world soon will feel alive again after Phase 2, even on the Normal realms.
End-game PvE was never the strongest point of Vanilla, if you play only for it why not to play Retail? Classic is a living world, with PvP, RP and social elements, there are literally hundreds of gear simulators which focuses on killing the boss mentality.
Fun is something you can not have even if you crave for it, free your mind from end-game, play as you want and like it. Make a new char try it, do not think too much about the levels, focus on the journey. The destination you will reach regardless you rush or not.
This can be played like a sandbox game, it’s mostly what you make if it yourself.
Just farm whatever you like. Or don’t farm and try make your earnings on ah alone. Do RP stuff even if your not in a rpserver. Join a new group of people and just build friendships. Collecting vanity pets (I’ve never seen those battles they added later so it’s not utterly useless in my mind to just have them for fun).
Lvl and raiding ain’t everything, most have experienced it already. Going with the flow can be enjoyable but this is stale waters, hype will die if your not doing it for yourself.
My aim atm is to have my alt squidmaster all stacked with grilled squid, not for profit only, but once I have enuff I’m probably gonna stack another bankalt on something else, lvling a main is just part of the overall experience
30-40 is the easiest phase to level - Just go SM all the way, it’s easy.
Yeah I know and I’ve done that before. I’m just suggesting an alternate route for the OP that I’ve been doing. I’m not one of these guys obsessed with leveling just to get to endgame, well not anymore, and I’m enjoying the game a lot more now.
I’m also leveling quite a few other characters alongside this one and that helps a lot too.
Not without my permission.
Get out of here scrub. Your face isn’t welcome.
Well if you hate it so much don’t play it… A 45 and 35 takes up a lot of /played… Awful lot of play time for someone who finds the game boring!
I wish I was like that, and hope I will be on alts… All my family and friends that play are already 60 and I’m the one lagging behind… I don’t want to just wait around either as I get OCD about my /played until I hit 60 haha
Welcome to MMOs.
Don’t play if you don’t enjoy it. Classic is about the journey. You don’t seem to enjoy that already so it will be a long journey for you. Try FF or retail maybe?
