Hi! I’ve been enjoying classic on my laptop, and with medium-ish settings (good shadows, good liquid, no SSAO, no sunshafts) I always get a solid 60FPS (with v-sync) at a resolution of around 2000ish by 1500ish (scaled down a bit).
However, in Un’Goro, no matter what I do, my FPS is 30 or lower. I have tried lowering every single setting to the lowest possible thing, and it still happens, I just can’t get over 30FPS.
I suspect it’s a fog effect or something along those lines that my GPU really struggles with?
My machine isn’t that uncommon. It’s a 2017 15" MacBook Pro, 16GB RAM, AMD Radeon Pro 555 with 2GB VRAM. It happens both on macOS Mojave (latest) and macOS Catalina (GM seed). I’d be more than happy to try out test builds / give more information / send log files / … if it helps debugging.
Has anyone else encountered this?
EDIT: Strangely enough, if I force Classic to use the Intel HD Graphics and lower the settings slightly (since it’s pretty weak), it doesn’t happen, while at those same settings the AMD GPU can’t pull 60. It looks like this might be something specific the AMD GPU can’t handle…
