Low level killing

Hi.

I recently started leveling a Human mage in Ragnaros realm and chose Duskwood, redridge and Blasted Lands. And there are a lot of 120 Horde players camping the area killing low level Alliance players. And I have a few questions.

1- why would someone do that? Im a Horde main and this is my first Alliance characther since Wotlk. I always wondered why Alliance hate Horde this much but I understand now. What kind of Joy are you getting from ruining the experience for others?

2- Why does blizzard let this happen? Different phases is something already existing in the game. It is possible for them to implement a system where players can only see other players which would count as honorable kill. There is nothing anyone can do to a 120 characther while being lower than 60.

The Saurfang Questline sends you to that area so it might be that ?

some people are losers by definition. they cant fight 120s so they have to go for what they can fight :joy:

  1. I have no idea.

  2. Blizzard already did something. They created War Mode for all servers. Go back to Stormwind, turn it off, and level in peace.

I know and I have done the same quests without killing a low level Alliance. It doesnt justify the behaviour.

For example yesterday a 120 demon Hunter in Blasted lands killed me 6 time and waited on my corpse for more than 30 min? Why is this allowed? Why my ressuraction time increases with each kill as Im being punished Even further

Some people just are like that and trying to make sense of it is a waste of time. I don’t understand it either but it is what it is, you can either accept it as part of the leveling or you turn your Warmode off, it’s up to you really :stuck_out_tongue:

Turn it off until you are finished with the zone then turn it back on again, Just so you know, I recently turned warmode off in Ironforge so you may only need to be in Stormwind to turn it on and not off.

Edit: It can be turned off in any rest area.

Some does it because they enjoy how the low lvls cry, others does it to lurk high lvl players to come and I assume some does it like I do when I kill critters - first type /love to a critter and then kill it
 Just because I can :man_shrugging:

I know a lot say they as a horde never see any alliance, but I have never been able to run in either Ashenvale or Northren Barrens as a low lvl hordie in WM without the joy of facing a high lvl alliance player

I never turn on WM from lvl 20-50, it’s just annoying when you are one shotted without realising someone is there.

And now you know why a lot of ally people don’t even bother with WM.
I remember coming back to wow in end of legion, i turned on WM (didnt really know what it was) I got instantly killed and camped by some horde, who had flying so he kept chasing me :frowning:.

That said, i just leveled my ally priest to 120 with WM on, and i only got killed once.

How about introduce the dishonourable kill.
Killing a “gray player” will result in a DK that will effect your gameplay somehow. Reduce your HK earning by a percentage or something for some time that will reduce only when you are on line. Anything towards that direction should be good to avoid people killing low lvl players.

Welcome to the Alliance. i can lend you a tissue to soak those tears
oh wait, I’m not WM on anymore since this morning
Sorry :stuck_out_tongue: I can’t lend it to you anymore

you mean
reintroduce??? Back in Vanilla killing lowbies used to lose honor.

Exactly

Let’s not pretend that this is a Horde only problem, you get the same attitude from Alliance players regularly. Maybe historically its been more Horde but since WM its a behaviour you see on both sides.

So tell me
why 90% of posts about ganking and killing lowbies come from Alliance?
Why most of the complains about WM ganking and raids come from Alliance players?
 I had a taste of that myself. Alliance raids? very few. Horde raids? God forgive me for my sins before dying.

thanks for the info on which zones to go to make alliance whine omw

  1. If they find it fun
why not? There are no rules in WM. Anything goes. They pay their sub. Why do they get joy from it? I don’t do much of this myself, but if I do
it’s because it’s amusing. Why not do something that amuses you. For me, it’s only briefly amusing. For example if a lowbie is in my path, it’s funny to kill it and keep going. Or play with it a bit. It’s funny, humour. The victim turned on WM, they asked for PvP, they know anything can happen, they know 120’s can be anywhere
they accepted it when they turned on WM. They asked for it to happen.

  2. Blizz allow it to happen, because they designed open world PvP to be an anything goes, no rules, do whatever is fun, player versus player gankfest. They could easily add limitations
they haven’t. It’s working as intended. If players don’t like it, they have been given the options to deal with it.

I’d argue its partly a reflection of the type of players and mindset of people who consciously choose one side over the other. ‘Fair’ is not a trait that one would attribute to the Horde (regardless of Garosh’s beta hOnOuR patter), whereas the idea of fairness and a just fight are something that would appeal more to alliance.

Also reflects how fragile Ally players are and thats said as a player who has spent most of his time on Silvermoon being tilted that our server firsts keep getting taken by the same Horde guild who came to the server to do exactly that

Ganking was immensely popular on the original PvP servers at the very least, particularly with rogue players. Guess there’s something fun about killing players who have absolutely no way to fight you back, which is why they do it.

Usually they aren’t very good, I always parked my main close to where I was leveling and if I ever got killed by a high-level, I’d do the same thing to them (main being a mythic geared bdk and all, impossible to lose 1v1’s). Also had a macro that I spammed once I killed them which basically pointed to a pet named “don’t kill my alts”. After doing that a couple of times to them, they actively started avoiding my alt when I logged back on.

Blizzard doesn’t let anything happen. You are letting it happen by turning warmode on

How about getting rid of the war mode bonuses then? These things are intended, they shouldn’t be punished and noone is trapped on a PvP server anymore, PvE mode is one click away.
