So, phase 2 started and everyone not level 60 is now in big trouble. I tried doing some quests yesterday on my 52 alliance hunter and could not even kill 1 mob before getting rapped by the ~30-40 level 60 hordes that were roaming through felwood.
I still want to get my character to level 60 and don’t know how.
Questing can’t be done anymore
Dungeon is inefficient (as a dps it takes between 1-2h to find a group).
Do you have any suggestions as to where level 50-59 can get some xp ? Maybe zones where nobody usually goes?
Ps: this is a suggestion thread, looking for solutions. there are enough other threads on this page to discuss things like “we need bgs, killing low lvl is unfair, go pve, go retail, you were too slow, etc.”
Dungeons. That´s really the only way to play now. I won´t leave dungeons with my alts until I am 60.
Actually this might help finding the dungeon groups as I believe there will be many players annoyed like you. So it would be best to find a dungeon group and do several runs until you outlevel that dungeon or get sick of it. Next day I would do the same with another dungeon.
Still hoping things will get back to normal in few weeks.
Yesterday it opened and everyone went crazy. Also people who would normally hardly bother to go out of their wat to PvP. So in general it will be less in time.
Still there will be people actually farming for ranks that will be a problem for you. Soon as BG’s open though, you will not see those outside in the open world anymore either.
It’s day 1, chill out. This weekend will be hectic, for sure. After that I imagine it will calm down pretty quickly. I mean yes, if you play a PVP server, you are always going to face dangerous enemies who want to kill you. That’s presumably why you chose a PVP server, right? Because you enjoy that sense of danger.
This weekend people will be going all out to cause chaos because it’s the start. After playing the game for almost 3 months with not much PVP action, everyone’s at bursting point to get it all out.
I saw lots of groups in chat (wasn’t in one myself as only lvl 43) who were in 100+ sized groups heading over to blackrock mountain to go to war to celebrate release of Honor.
Myself, me and another guy went chasing after as many people as we could in stranglethorn, killing and corpse camping more than I normally would. It’s going to be a fun weekend.
But it’ll stablise and reach normal levels soon.
I don’t think you guys understand the problem : the best way to rank in pvp right now is to farm lvl 48-59 players. This is a manhunt going on, with groups of lvl 60’s chain killing every ally they find. This won’t change untill BGs are and will give them a more efficient way to rank, it will keep going even after this week-end.
“Just wait it out” is a poor answer
Try to find the “unfarmed” areas that hold nothing of interests.

Stuff like that. Favor “Interior” areas because people don’t like to dismount.
It’s going to be slow, painful and unrewarding… but it’s that or dungeons.
Yeah but the number of people who are actually that interested in ranking is probably relatively low. This weekend will be particularly bad because everyone is trying out the pvp system, but after that only the actual hardcore pvpers will be doing it. so it will get easier.
I would just hide away in ZF but it appears that all of the ZF spellcleave groups were just full of alt’s, now they’re playing their mains, these ZF groups seem to have all dried up other than boosters.
I found Hinterlands to be the best zone to quest in during these troubled times, but even then I was ganked multiple times, just not as frequently.
Personally, I’ve abandoned my mage for now and made a fresh Rogue alt, so I can at least have a chance of hiding away in the open world as I level.
IF Blizzard don’t release BG’s pretty sharpish then I do think they’re going to alienate a lot of non-60 people.
Not everyone played vanilla or private servers, myself included, and wasn’t aware of the effects that this ranking system would entail, yes we had an idea that it was going to be messy, but this is just kinda anti-fun tbh, and I’ve lived for PVP for 11 years.
A free transfer option to PVE servers could help alleviate the problem for many people I feel right now
This actually won’t be anything like private servers, because private servers - at least, the popular ones - all had BGs from the start, so never had this exclusively wpvp for honor.
On Nostalrius, the most effective way of getting honor was always battlegrounds, not wpvp ganking. In Classic, the most effective way is ganking wpvp.
the reason why this is a mess is because so many people rushed to 60 and farmed gear. now they have nothing better to do than bully people who arent 60 yet
Either try and find a place hidden away and grind (forget quests, it sadly is now off limits for a small chunk of time), wait till phase 3, or simply try and go through it.
I am level 48, alliance, my experience last night just wasn’t very fun, but it’s on me for not hitting 60 at the correct time. I am waiting it out, playing old AV on retail.
