Only Moonkin in the top, and very recently SPriest. Mage, Warlock, Elemental, Hunter - they are all down, down the list. It is all melee at the top.
In my opinion this is due to the insane movement.
I am confident that other than BM, most other casters spend a lot of time simply dodging (low APS).
In other words Blizzard adjust the numbers so that 1 or 2 spells do equivalent damage to 3-4 melee attacks, because in most cases melee keep attacking, with 8 yard range, while dodging, whereas casters cannot.
And where the numbers are not well adjusted we see all melees at the top half and casters at the bottom half.
What are you on about, the meta changes all the time, last season it was mostly ranged.
And either way, every spec can do the content up to 22s easyâŚ
Why should the 99% of playerbase care what happens in the top 1% or the top .1%.
Why let that influence the way you play?
Take Hunters, MM is one of the highest dmg dealing specs in M+⌠above a few of the meta specs.
The reason why they arent meta, is because they lack some defensives, and arent a vers class to make up for it. But that only really becomes relevant when you get to 23, 24 keys ect⌠before that, theyâre nuts.
Edit.
This is just the same nonsense we see every tier, random nobodies that dont even understand the tier lists, starts making groups and talking about things theyâve made up based on tier list they dont understand, and it trickles down through the whole community, and then it will be blamed on the evil top 1% because they want to exclude people cause reasons.
You rarely see a shadow priest but every time i see one he destroys the meters, i think theyâre underrated , they seem to have good aoe, excellent cleave and good single target, they provide good utility and the only downside is the mobility. Iâd say they are 10/10 and they only struggle on some specific keys + affixes, maybe quaking and tornadoes.
I see hunters a lot more and the immunity can be handy on some keys (vexamus iâm looking at you) but they provide less utility and self sustain/defensives so iâd take boomy/priest over them.
The meta anyway is always 2 melee + 1 ranged, or even 3 melee.
A good shadow will top meters pretty easily. Their top 3 in all content after buffs, theyre just not very easy to play.
The whole melee only is a myth realistically WoWlogs even advertise the fact the disparity is alot smaller then shown. As player results are Bias to meta due to representation.
The dps difference between top and bottom is now where near as wide as people wanna make out.
NONONONO do not spread this lie.
Survival hunter do use a pet and BL is just a pet type Ferocity pet, you can Blood lust as survival.
It is cluncky and lowers the dps of the MM hunter but MM can summon a BL pet and give BL.
BM is just a overall more balanced spec it got more single target then MM and it does decent aoe (MM has uncapped aoe in bursts) has no real cooldown so will always do decent damage through the whole run is overall more easy to play compared to MM and you get full mobility.
Survival is a melee hunter a spec that your average hunter do not really play at all and if it is played it is because it beats the other 2 specs by a good deal it is also not very well made of a spec in the first place.
None of the specs wants to give bloodlust if they can avoid it however because without a bloodlust pet you have another defensive cooldown and you get a larger health pool.
But there is NO hunter spec that can not give blood lust.
