M+ dungeons give way too little gold

You’re looking at 1000 gold spent per M+ for a rank 1 flask and the Hearty Beledar food and at the end you get a measly 55g. Surely we can increase the gold from those? 50g is nothing, it’s not even one death’s repair cost.

I mean you are right that M+ gives too little gold but then again, M+ is not made to make money, it’s more a money sink. Just like raiding. You are supposed to spend money on this, not to gain money. You are supposed to gain character power, even tho not guaranteed.
I maybe don’t like it too but it actually makes sense.

Raiding has fewer costs because of guild repairs and cauldrons/feasts.

Bosses also give way more gold, surely.

Like was said M+ should be something of a gold sink. But they have kinda nerfed gold making this expac from world stuff (gathering aside). Repairs are also more expensive than they used to be.

Blizz are being a bit sneaky here. I don’t subscribe to the “lol just buy a token cos thats what Blizz are pushing” just yet but its sure moving that way.

I mean the cost is still there, it just depends on who pays it lol^^
Because you could say the same for M+ runs, right? Run it with the guild and it all goes from the guild bank.

For a guy in my guild a helm dropped in raid, which is apparently around 500k worth or something. The rule is it gets sold to him for half the price and the money gets put on guild bank or it gets sold on the ah. I guess this is the only advantage of a raid compared to M+?

Oh make no mistake, removing Personal Loot was the biggest blunder Blizzard has done in the last 5 years. We’re back to Guilds treating you like a slave, especially if you’re a trial.

I make more money from one WOTLK or Cata dungeon than I do in War Within.

A Cata token is 30K, a War Within token is 300K.

The disparity is insane. It’s been 5 years ( 20 years ) since I had to gold farm in order to be able to buy consumes for raids ( Vanilla WoW ). It really has no place in a modern game, it’s just a waste of time and I’m better off buying tokens for it.

Oh I feel it… we have a rule that DPS gears before healers :smiley:
I am still running with a blue auction house ring because my chance of getting loot is basically zero. I have to gear myself up via M+, which I don’t mind, even tho pugging can be really super “special”…

And thats exactly what Blizzard wants you to do.

Which is why we need to get angry and demand that they need to increase gold gains yes.

But why would Blizz do that? They want your money. Thats why all gold rewards got nerfed. Thats why the gold rewards from mission tables got removed/waste of time. Thats why they put things like Long Boi in the game.

They want you to buy tokens.

Well you can pick mining/herbalism and make like 50k-150k per hour with the current economy .( If i can make anyone can make it ).

You can have an alt for alchemy do your own thing …

The choices are there .

Mythic raiding and Mythic+ are supposed to give Gear … and the best Gear .

There are activities for everyone and any activity provide benefits for each thing you do …

Why does it make sense to disincentivize playing the game?

Why should genuine gameplay be a gold sink? There seems to be many people, who only engage with professions, etc. to buy a wow token, so I don’t know why genuine players, who only seek fun, are supposed to fund the game of others to play?

Because there are ways to gain money and to spend money. Here you spend money and get a chance to make your character stronger. This is how MMORPGs work for… ever, I guess?
If you make profit from everything, what’s even the point of having money in the game?

Trading, and engaging in a market. If you play real endgame, you won’t have time to also engage with farming gold usually. I think all it does is actual players paying money for gold. I don’t feel like it’s positive for the players. I think the people, who farm gold 24/7, are often not even paying for the game.

also the biggest issue, way too little valorstones, like its insane that the fastest way to farm valorstones are random heroic dungeon spam and digging in halofall …

As I said, I play Classic Cata and WOTLK, and despite using flasks and popping potions like Tic Tacs I was always making more money than I was losing in WOTLK. How has WoW gotten so bad that it was better designed in 2009 ?

Everyone’s like " WOAH DRAGONFLIGHT AND WAR WITHIN IS SO RESPECTFUL OF MY TIME " uh no, they’re rewarding you 50g for clearing a dungeon when the consumes for that + repair is 1000g, that’s legit terrible.

we have inflation irl we dont need it in the game too… rapair cost is out of control and bosses drop less gold than the did in legion…

Blizzard just prays on people buying wow tokens. It’s as simple as that, but I’m not gonna play into that. If they wanna make money, they should provide additional value, and not create artificial problems. On my main I’m running +8 and I don’t have a single crafted gear piece, nor an enchant, because I don’t wanna be forced to buy gold with real money.

You already have it dude, it costs you 1000g for a full repair and you make less gold than I get on a dungeon clear in Cataclysm. And my full repair is like 200g over there.

It’s insane how bad it is on Retail.
