Difficulty isn’t too high - it’s fine. Rewards for M+10 are too high. On my server there are plenty guilds that raid Mythic raids.
To answer your second question everyone will play mythics as it’s another source of gear. Why wouldn’t you go for M+ after your raiding sessions if you have free time when you can be rewarded with extra piece of gear. This doesn’t make sense.
If the gear reward is brought down in ilev why would you run it? I don’t run heroics, heroic raid, or normal raid because it isn’t worth my while. The only thing worth running now is M+ for the 410 chest and extra residium, even then I’m only using residium for my offspec now or if I want to save for a ridiculiously expensive BiS.
You are proposing two things, one is time gating gearing from M+ as in loot locks and the other is reducing ilev. Firstly why time gate just to artificially stretch content, and secondly 400ilev isn’t that high my druid who hasn’t done any M+ isn’t far off that.
I really think M+ is popular because it rewards gear, and is an alternative to raiding. A lot of players just don’t want to commit to raid nights anymore. By nerfing M+ you either force them into having to raid or just quit. And while you might force some to raid, a lot will just quit too.
If anything put higher gear like 415ilev into +15s, but don’t nerf +10s.
It needs a fix but not by nerfing it but by improvign raid and PvP loot. I don’t like grinding M+, it was supposed to be equal to raid gearing. A different path, yet M+ people have more gear than people who raid. And let’s not compare PvP gear… That’s simply in shambles. But they won’t change it since all Bliz now care for is turning WoW in an e-sport for M+.
Biggest part where it goes wrong:
Raid: Boss didn’t drop loot? See you next week!
PvP: Cap to get 2 peices weekly (in essence of quarenteed epic)
M+: Just farm it endlessy!
M+ compared to PvP and raiding has no lockout. You can just spam them till it drops. Heck they even disabled the sealing a raid boss you already killed to my knowledge. So no more having 7 seals and 1 kill on a mythic boss and just repeat it 6 more times to get your trinket, yet when your M+ doesn’t drop it join anathor group and repeat it.
To be honest about it a lot of people are pretty sick of raiding. I used to love it, but now all I see is either toxic pugs or the flip side guilds that expect you to be on time three nights a week like a job. At least with M+ you pick it up or leave it down as suits you.
And it is an alternative to raiding, and IMO a dam good one at that.
May I suggest that instead of locking M+ loot, they allow you to kill raid bosses over and over. It would be much better to ask for that than to ask for other content to be locked.
you wouldnt run 10s, you’d run 15s, and get a proper reward.
just like everyone was running 6s in week one of each tier, and then everyone started running 10s when 10s rewarded best loot.
etc
etc
etc
etc
etc.
no, M+ is popular because it’s a never ending content, it never ends, and everyone and their grandparents like pushing keys to a degree.
there’re people who do capped keys (10s) but most people who do M+ do it because the concept is fun - its like endless proving grounds where you can keep pushing to infinity.
gear’s not a reward, its a tool to get to your goals. and yeah I know there’re some chimpanzees who think shiny gear is a reward but for the most of the community, gear’s a tool.
good thing we have rio, it really makes M+ more fun, its more competitive and there’s ranking, making pushing keys above 10 more reasonable.
Nobody talks about ilvl. I want to reduce the amount of gear that drops from M+ to make it equal to raiding/pvp. I also want to rescale keys as +10 as the ilvl cap is laughable. Everyone can make +10. The ilvl cap should be similar to PvP and raids so highest ilvl possible should be rewarded with +15 and then it will be fair.
The reason I’m against titanforge and warforge is that’s unfair and unmotivating for a lot of players. My friends said that they have nothing to do because farming M+ hoping for TF or WF is just stupid. Getting 420 from Mythic +5 should never happen and Donvega if you are only playing random bg’s and M+5 you have accurate gear for these contents and you don’t need higher ilvl. Content should be rewarding. We don’t feel rewarded if we get higest possible gear from relatively easy content. It doesn’t push you to raid mythic raid or high mythic keys if you want to be top geared player. For example I have a friend that is so lucky that he has all bis pieces besides trinkets. It’s ridiculus. This patch will last for 2 more months.
With me I just get very bored of doing the same thing over and over, once I get the loot out of it I don’t care. As a casual the goals I set myself were all +10s in time and curve. Once I got those I’m happy.
If you want to push higher fine, but I think there are a lot who don’t really care beyond getting gear. I know I don’t at this stage. And yes gear is a tool for getting stuff done, but for your average casual what else is there to chase in wow? The answer is very little.
If you are so concerned about achievement etc. then why would you want to see gear levels nerfed for those lower down the ladder? I really don’t get that.
I also don’t see the point in putting in all the effort it takes to get CE or +20 something dungeons unless you are going to do it at the top of the heap like Method or Muschebrah and be able to cash in on it.
The fix could be perhaps not in having the mythic + lockouts but in the increasing of the raid loot table and the chances of the loot dropping in the raid for the players and maybe in the possibility for them to get even more loot they do now from the individual bosses ( instead of one piece maybe they could sometimes get 2 ) and the good enough raid loot for the players to actually want to run them.
Yeah… make wow a loot fiesta so you’d be geared in 2 months so you’d complain that you have 10 alts geared and there is nothing to do. You have to make these few months of the current patch a relevant content so you won’t be bored and unsub in the middle of it. That’s my point if you increase drops from other sources suddenly we will be all geared in the middle of the patch. With lowering M+ drops we will have something to do for the whole patch as now many people unsubbed as they claim there is nothing to do and they wait for 8.2
I don’t play the game just for the gear, and to gear my characters, but to actually achieve my goals in the content I do in the form or curve or m+ progress. The gear for me just represents the tool to achieve those goals, and not an goal itself.
because mathematically its not possible to reward +15s properly, without
a. reducing reward of everything from 10 to below
b. rewarding 15s with 425, which in my opinion is a really bad idea
at the end of the day, ilvl is just a number, reduce ilvl and item drops ilvl of everything by 30 and nothing will change except certain scaling like how haste number scales in percentages etc, which is un-important for casuals like me u and anyone else here. those scalings could potentially be important for people who are in top 100~ guilds and aim for hiiiigh rankings.
take away 30 ilvl from everyone right now, Im 385 ilvl, so is everyone else, and mythic raids now drop 385 ilvl, heroics drop 370, etc. what’s changing?
main issue right now, why people dont do HC raid is, how looting works. you can farm M+ and get same ilvl, + you get 410 ilvl every week.
there’re no more tier sets, so that’s another issue.
at the end of the day, what the game needs is, somehow making loot relevant.
if you play smart, today, you could go from 200 ilvl to 400+ ilvl, and there’s nothing worth chasing after you get gear.
AOTC, CE, M+ seasonal achi for 10 and 15. and even those dont award anything but papers saying u did something
Yes and no. So imagine the fact that I’m mainly PvP player and i’m forced to spend 2-3 days in a week to farm M+ instead of practicing my 3v3 team with my friends because otherwise I won’t be able to compete with much better geared people. We PvP players are literally forced to play M+.
The PvP players should be asking for their own separate loot from the PvE content, I think how it is a big mistake on the Blizzard part how the gearing looks now in the PvP that some PvP-ers are forced to farm the gear for them in the PvE to stay competitive.
Thank you mate. Tell it to Blizzard - we are asking for vendors since Legion release. They removed them to create “better and more rewarding gaming experience”. Guess what people quit WoW because of horrible gearing experience in PvP.
I haven’t noticed that people don’t do HC raids anymore, I see enough of groups running the heroic raids weekly, not mainly for the loot, but for the fun - because that is still engaging content for them and for their progression. A lot of the heroic raiders don’t see the mythic + content as a threat to them but as something which they can do on the side when they are not raiding, have fun in it and which can help them in the gearing process. And to be honest I wouldn’t be for changing of how the gearing looks now in the m+ but for adding additional goals for the people which run higher difficulties, like seasonal mounts or special mog items which could be obtained by lets say getting all +15 done currently within the season on time ( if the PvP players can be rewarded by doing arena each season there should be more rewards for players in the PvE to ). The reason why Blizzard is not giving currently the higher loot in the mythic dungeons even if the players do higher dungeons than it does now its because it still wants to have the mythic raiding as a number one option in the game for getting the highest gear.
The fact I have a lot of them doesn’t mean I think it’s fair. I don’t want to ruin fun but to make it fair. I’m currently forced to farm M+ as if I’d focus on other content I wouldn’t be competitive. I don’t want to be forced to farm M+ 2-3 days a week to play PvP I want to focus on for 2 days. I want to be better in PvP because I practice and get better instead of just farming gear from M+
I want to be competitive in PvP so just because I drop titanforge and it’s my bis I shouldn’t wear it because I’m against it? Even though I have a lot of them I don’t think it’s a good mechanic. It’s basically stupid that I can get 420 titanforged boots from M+9.
just because it has tf/wf gear doesnt mean it cant be against it.
I have some tf/wf too I think, and Im disgusted by that system.
its designed solely to keep people playing for that tiny % chance that gear forges.
mostly I was referring to people who do normal raids for funz, and people who do mythic raids to progress.
in the past both of those had a reason to run Heroic raids but currently there’s not much reason aside from doing it for fun.
I agree with this 150000%.
Like, as long as there’s an objective reason to run anything above M+10, and by objective i mean something aside from “i like doing it”, I’d be veeeeeery happy.
yeah true but they’re doing very bad job at it.
for example I run mythic raid, the priest up there doesnt, and we’re both same ilvl.
the main issue with gearing imo is WF/TF.
